Watching old man Mick, who literally is a now a senior citizen and a cripple in lots of pain, summon his inner 1985, even if for just 2 minutes, to kick ass and pull off the solo brings a tear to my eyes. A salute to Mick Mars.
@lastchance74632 жыл бұрын
Well said dude. For me, this was his best best solo thus far for this Crüe classic on this tour. Those who are unaware of the disease Mick that is unfortunately stricken with, ankylosis spondylitis, my late Uncle was hit with it; its the most debilitating chronic pain one can suffer with, a simple tying of the shoe laces was an indescribable heart wrenching scene to watch with my Uncle. Mick is up there doing what he does best not missing a note. God Bless him. Side note: Kudos to the individual that posted this! Excellent camera work and fantastic quality!

Nobody can play like Mick. His style & his smooth way is my favorite. Even at his age & the physical problems he has, he killed that song from beginning to end & no one will ever be able to play the solo in Home Sweet Home like Mick Mars.

@BM-vi5hk Жыл бұрын
Mick's best solo in my opinion-- the phrasing is excellent and perfectly complements the tempo and the feel of the song-- it is all wrapped around on a deceptively simple motif on the A D and G strings (tuned down a whole step) that he repeats 3 times. He uses a brief, single bar three note trill, some pinch harmonics and plenty of full note bends to fatten the sound and give it variety and breadth.

Definitely sucks the hear he retired. Glad I got to see them play three times live together. Twice in 2005 and once in 2022. Even with the fans reaching out Mick will probably never get the respect he deserves but his guitar playing is one of the reasons Motley Crue got so famous to begin with, it was just the perfect storm of different elements at the right time.
