Moto Mods - Ninja 650 - USB Power

Many thanks for this video. I'm about to fit the USB socket on my wife's 650. I thought it was going to be as easy as it was to fit on my ninja 1000 but seems we need to take allot more off the 650.

You're most welcome. It's fairly easy to do. To do it the way that the dealer wants to you do but the shortcut was is only the wind screen and the panel under it. I hope you enjoy the USB one you get it installed.

@@pinnacle_moto Thanks, and Yea my total time was about 25-30 minutes even with messing around trying to get the crimper to work. And I appreciate the sub. Thank you very much. I'll keep putting stuff up here as I do it.

Possibly attempting this installation on a ‘23 650 fairly soon. I’ve gotta pick up a few of these items tho. Do you think purchasing a crimper just for this is worth it? Or should I just take it to the shop..

If you're going to do more than just this mod, then I'd pick up the crimper, it'll be useful. And it's not too much money.

those wires was just sitting in there? other videos show a connector that's tucked away.

For me they were, I think it depends on the model year, and maybe the model. Not quite sure. For me it was just the 2 bullet connectors.

To do this mod, do I also need to purchase some dielectric?

You don't need to, but I find it's always a good idea to use some when don't electrical work on vehicles. Especially where there's a chance it gets wet.

Do I have to get a relay for it as well , because i had to get a relay for my 400 now I got the 650 do I need it?

Nope the 650 has the relay from the factory. At least mine did. So you should be all good there.
