(Feb 2021) After 14 months... My Sidi Goretex sprung a leak after just one year as the sole split away. I cleaned them up and fastened the sole back using Gorilla Glue and it worked great. The SG12 is a great boot but the memory foam sucks in water and is harder to dry because of that, so it's a better boot for dry conditions. The Crossfire 3 TA is the best boot. The old Crossfire SRS 2 is still being used because they are so comfortable.... The SRS is a great boot for rides where it's unlikely to kick something while going fast.

Sidi is mostly made in Romania. Gaerne is all made in Italy. Romania has a history of skilled leather working, but I have read some complaints about build quality on recent Sidis.

I've now got 3 rides on the Gaerne SG12 and it's broken in nicely. The all black with grey is nice and easy to clean up!

Glad I subscribed today. I have been kicking around between the Sidi and Gaerne for the last month. Also, the tip on where to buy them to save a few bucks is nice.

I have two set of Crossfire 2 TA, I just love them, my first pair have 4 years and they are in great shape, I just change the inside sole but other then that... still perfect.

Had Garne. It’s for years on street bikes. But I recently got the Sidi - X-3 Boots for my dirt bike riding (KTM 250 EXC-F). Love these things . Best boots I have ever had. So comfy right out the box.

Great review mate! the T/A sole is the way to go better grip, feel & safer, the SRS was originally a Motard boot but people mainly went with them for the look factor.

Thank you for this video. I am now about to replace my Sidi's Crossfire 2 SRS. I must say the sole replacement system is a must for anyone who rides motocross. All the boots i chuckd away in the past was due to sole rupture. With sidis I was able to replace them every year. So they lasted 3 seasons. Definitely worth the money. I am now considering other boots since I had to glue back the whole sole :(

Get the crossfire 3 TA The sole is sewn on. IMHO, they are the best of the ones I've tried and have done well since buying them and making this video. The sole is great, should last the life of the boot. I like the bigger toe box and better toe protection.

I like Gaerne because they actually make their boots unlike most that have sweatshops make em in other countries…

Great video and usefull comparison!!! Wich of sidi boots are you recomended for enduro SRS or normal version? Now i have a sidi crossfire 2 normal version (very satisfaited), but for my next boots i looking for srs and repalce sole for better grip in mud etc.. I dont have any useful information and if you have some experience or info please send me an answer. Tnx.

The SRS models allow for the enduro sole and it does provide meaningfully better traction. But, the toe area has less protection while giving better feel. I like the SRS 3, but they only make up to size 12.5 and I wear a 13.

www.pro-bootmx.com/ is the link to the repair shop in Minneapolis that i have used at least 4 times. They do great work at a fair price.

How do you find the weight of the SG12 compared to the Sidi TA?
@dagsterblaster49735 жыл бұрын
I just checked, no discernible difference.

@@dagsterblaster4973 Any chance you could weigh them. I wear Sidi's but am considering SG12's for my next boot, Someone told me they were 2lbs heavier per boot, which is a lot if it's true.

@MARCUSAURELIUS I'll probably just stick with what I know and get the Sidi CF3 TA's

Great video! Could you please give your opinion on sizing and fitment of the SG-12? For example, I’m a 10.5D in normal shoes/sneakers. I have Sidi CF2 SRS and had to buy an 11 for them to fit good because of the tight toe area. But on an Alpinestar Tech 7, I wear a size 10 comfortably. I’m unsure on which size to get in a SG-12. Thanks!

What's the website to buy those boots ?
@dagsterblaster49734 жыл бұрын
Sadly, they have since raised prices across the board. Still decent price compared to USA but not like it was when I first published this video. Chromeburner.com is in Holland. I also have purchased from bikerland.de and fcmoto.de in Germany.

Which offers best toe protection? I broke my toe with Fox. Tnx
@dagsterblaster49735 жыл бұрын
Sorry I missed your question. I think both the Sidi AT and the Gaerne with the Steel Toe offer max toe protection. IMO, the steel toe looks better attached on the Sidi than the Gaerne.
