Well lads, Sorry that most of you couldn't understand the dialogue between the cop & I. I don't normally talk as fast in my videos but when I end up talking to other Irish people, my accent usually gets thicker and faster so again, apologies about that. If you didn't understand a word in the video he basically pulled me over for speeding, 73kmph in a 50kmph zone. He then started to rant about my rear tyre saying it was bald. We have a legal tread limit of 1mm here in Ireland for motorbike tyres. I didn't bother arguing with him about it because he already had his mind made up that he was giving me a ticket for speeding. He didn't give me a ticket for the tyres as I think he knew he was wrong after the conversation. I don't really mind the police here, they're generally okay but the traffic corp tend to be pricks. Most of it is just revenue collection because if he was really concerned about safety he should be more worried about people speeding into the village, not people speeding up to leave the village. He also pulled out and left after he gave me the ticket so I was in the middle of a busy road on my own with no car to block me... safety first eh?

When I got my motorcycle, I had to wait like 1 or 2 weeks to get everything legit. Yeah I wanted to ride beforehand but I wanted to be legal on the road. When I hear them saying like, oh my license plate is coming it's in the mail or whatever I'm always like, then don't ride until you get all that stuff! 🤦‍♂️

The issue was that it took him so long to pull over. Then, when he finally stopped, he did it at a gas pump, like he thought he was just going to fuel up during the stop. That showed a fair bit of arrogance on the part of the rider.

Just flip the plate sideways and drill holes in it. Technically illegal to drill the plate but just make sure all the numbers and rego are clear and cops won't bust you up.

Yeah, there's a minimum tread depth of 1mm for motorbike tyres and 1.6mm for car tyres. I think it's the standard across Europe. He didn't give me a ticket for my tyres though because I think he realised he was wrong after the conversation. I just got one for speeding.

DOT regulates tire tread in the United States, but normal cops don't write DOT tickets.
