This is a lovely little machine that performs well beyond expectations for its small engine size. The exhaust on this bike is an unbranded carbon-fiber slip-on. I have also removed the airbox snorkel for a more aggressive intake sound.
You can hear it's running a little bit lean at the moment so that will need to be sorted. However, there's little on this earth that sounds nicer than a snarling V4! Put some headphones on and enjoy the stereo sound! #bikeasmr

@@TheLoneTrader I had a 98 VFR 800 with an Arrow NFRU can. Coming into a roundabout, all the burbles on the overrun, winding it up and listening to those cams whining and that V4 firing order sends shivers down my spine

I bought one of these in 1996, as a grey, and just had the best time riding. It is very forgiving and will see you round bends with just a touch of the handle bar. Took it all over UK and Europe (Eastern Europe 2 up!). Perfect size too for shorty too.

Iconic sound. I like the deep tone this bike has compared to an NC30. Sounds great too climbing over 7k rpm. Amazing that this bike ruled in the 80’s… such a sophistication for that time.

For sure. For all the benefits of the 360° crank on the NC30, the sound of the NC21/24 is more exciting to me, less flat. It sounds like a mini V8 down low and howls up top.

definitely didnt rule the 80s lol this was a lower mid range bike...the vfr750 was a hell of a lot more bike and was still not a ruler in the 80s let alone a top line bike

I am on a streak of watching VFR 400 videos ! Got one NC30 at home, its my gradfathers bike and its been sitting for nearly 15 years ! Will be riding soon tho, this year is my 24th birthday so i will be allowed to ride it !

It is a light labelled 'SPEED'. It comes on at around 50 mph. It must be some kind of safety feature for the Japanese market.

Are there any differences in the engine between this and the NC30?

Very much. The NC30 is a flat plane style big-bang engine. Sounds totally different. I can't comment on the feel of it because I haven't personally ridden one. Specs show the same bhp output but marginally more torque.
