For the 2008-2012 Ninja 250s, I believe the key code for the ignition is stamped on the side of the ignition housing, and for 2007 and earlier the key code is stamped somewhere underneath the rear seat key

@@ronalromero8587 Stamped on the side of the ignition housing. For example, item 333699550947 shows the same code on the factory key tag and the lock cylinder (“1747” in photos 1 and 4). Decoding that to a make a physical key is something only some dealers and locksmiths can do. I recall people getting blanks cut by code from Hillbilly Kawasaki.

I saw an Indonesian locksmith making a key just by looking at the wafer using smartphone torchlight. After that they just file the key manually. Impressive.

I had to replace my ignition switch and now I need to rekey the tank and seat lock. I need to know where to buy a set of wafers so that I can have the same key for all three locks. Do you know where I would get this? I have 2008 zx10r. I have the key code

Wafers are hard to find. Try your local Automotive / Motorcycle Locksmith Most Motorcycle dealers sell sets of locks keyed alike.

Very cool video. That's something they must have changed. I had a ninja 250 and it had one key for everything. Even had a helmet lock under neath the rear fender. Thanks for sharing this information.

Tennessee Lock Picking Hi, the Ninja has one key for everything but the ignition has 8 cuts (1-8) and the Gas Cap and Seat Compartment only have positions 3-8.

Wow alot easier then the method I use. I pick the gas cap and remove and disassemble it. How do you feel the Acureader compares to the EZ reader and Determinators and Lishi tools. I like Lishi and EZ reader but was not a fan of Determinators

My fallback plan is to disassemble the gas cap and make a key and then "fill" or "progress" to make an ignition key. AccuReader tool is my favorite this week and I have Lishi Tools too. I have never used the Determinators or EZ readers for making keys to motorcycles but use them for some Cars and Trucks.
