A really good video once again and one that has surely taken a lot of time to gather the information, create the text and match it to the visuels. As i'm sure they all do. But this one in particular, while sitting here with a dram of my favourite Single Malt, before i'm off to bed. Thanks, see you in Part 2.

Yes, they do take a fair bit of time to do but I enjoy making em. Thanks for watching and the kind comments. Hope you enjoyed the wee dram, single malts are my drink of preferance too. I love the smokey Islays. Cheers.

@@old-n-Goldie Me too, Islay is my go-to region, but I can appreciate any other if it matches my present mood and time of day. For a night time tipple though, it's got to be a Islay... two of the following are usually on hand: Adberg, Laphroag, Caol Isla, or Lagavullin.

Great video for a Saturday morning I’ve visited Howden a few times over the few years I’ve been in hull in car and on various bikes and you’ve taught me even more history and enjoyed watching your ride with you and going all the way to Fimber Cafe ☕️ which I’ve been a few times and look forward to more this spring time 😊😊 Great job Oh il be looking now into the history in more detail of the Thor IRBM Nuclear Missile that was based in the wolds and didn’t know that ATB Phil

Oh, I got that wrong then... It was the A1079 to Beverly, and not the A27 then, that I thought I used to take... a nice girl she was, I wonder what she's doing today?
@old-n-Goldie8 ай бұрын
I think the A27 is down near the south coast if I remember correctly from my lorry driving days, mind you it was a long time ago😅😅 Must admit though I often get totally confused with road numbers and have to check on a map. If she was a nice girl, she obviously wasn't from Howden😅😅😅

Another great episode. Lots of stuff on Howden , I wasn’t aware of, which is basically the gateway to East Yorkshire for us. I mostly go through the Melbourne area & on to Pocklington on the way out. Lots of fantastic riding to be had on the Wolds. Planning to go to Seaways today (sat 17), to break in my new tyres. The deserts at Fimber are great & at bargain prices. The other good point is the toilets are open even when the snack cabin isn’t. Looking forward to part 2. 👍
@old-n-Goldie8 ай бұрын
Thanks Martin glad your enjoying them. Yes, the Yorkshire Wolds are a great riding area and I think you'll recognise more of the roads in the second part. Have a great ride out to Seaways but just go steady on those new tyres. I must admit I did take advantage of the toilets at Fimber, didn't think I could last all the way back up the hill till I got to Seaways😂😂😂 Cheers.

Yea, I know the feeling😱& it’s not good! lol. Had a steady ride to Seaways, Top of Garrowby was in cloud. My bike looks like I have ridden through the Don!

I've noticed your most used words in many of your videos are, "Grade 2 listed" but we never get to hear of Grades 1 or 3. Do other Grades exist, or only Grade 2? Sorry, i'm asking for a friend..., lol I've lived abroard most of my adult life and am not really familiar with many Englishisms... if that's a word!
@old-n-Goldie8 ай бұрын
You weren't paying attention at the beginning were you lol😅😅😅 Howden minster is grade 1 listed. In England and Wales we have 3 different grades, 1, 2* and 2. Only about 2.5% are grade 1, the vast majority of the rest are grade 2. Scotland has catagory A, B and C. Northern Ireland has grades A, B+, B1 and B2. Nothings ever simple in the UK😅

@@old-n-Goldie Sorry m8, i'll try a little harder next time. To my defence though, it was rather late when I watched it😉. Thanks anyway for the valuable indexing systems of the UK. I knew nothing of that.
@old-n-Goldie8 ай бұрын
No problem, glad you keep watching and find the rambles interesting. I think many would be confused if I ever venture up into Scotland and start throwing in references to their system 😁😁😁 Cheers.
