One of my favourite roads in my entire world, especially just from the ice cream van to Hawes, lovely bends mostly good visibility too.

LOVE that road . I have always started from Ingleton along the B6255. Then when I got to Hawes after a cup of tea I would take the A684 to Sedbergh then the A683 to Kirkby Lonsdale ( Devils Bridge ) I come up from Suffolk just to ride it .

Its a long ride from Suffolk but I agree its a fabulous road. I hope you get chance to explore some of the other amazing roads in the area while up there. This channel is mostly dedicated to riding great roads, thanks for watching

@@rodneybrand7512 Arr, sorry to hear that Rodney. I'm hoping Carol and I can keep riding for a few years yet. I can recommend a drive up here to the Triumph factory for a tour. Nice to chat. Cheers from Richard and Carol

Laughed at 4:28 when you went over the brow and found the bend. Not too far from there, there used to be a much more severe version of the same thing, though it's been straightened now, probably because it killed a few bikers. As you approached, the road appeared to go into a dip and rise up to the left on the other side, so you might approach at 60-70mph thinking that was perfectly OK. What _actually_ happened was the road did a sharp right immediately after the brow _and_ went very steeply downhill. At the bottom of the dip it then did a very sharp left, so your suspension was bottoming out as you tried to take what was effectively a hairpin. To cap things off, at that point the road was raised on an embankment about 8 feet above the surrounding land, so if you fell off the road you'd land _on top of_ a drystone wall with attached barbed wire fence. On the upside, you got a "never to be forgotten" experience. 😂

Blimey that's a long time ago now but I still remember it. Yes you can get yourself into a heap of trouble very easily. Luckily we're still riding with those bikes. Thanks for watching

@@Banditmanuk Well, it's a lot longer since I rode a bike on Dales roads ! Me and my mates were there any weekend the weather was ok-ish because from here we could be in Skipton in half an hour. Wife and me love the area and spend as much time as we can there, exploring tiny back ways and finding beautiful places. On 4 wheels these days but I still feel jealous when someone passes us on a motorbike because I know how it feels to ride those roads. 😊
