1974 Honda CL450 Will It Run After 25 Years #motorcyclerewind #vintagemotorcycles #cl450
Welcome back to Motorcycle Rewind, where we dive into the world of reviving classic motorcycles. Today, we're embarking on an epic journey as we resurrect a 1974 Honda CL450 that's been resting in hibernation since 1999 - that's a whopping 25 years!
Join me in the garage as we unveil this beauty, a testament to Honda's engineering prowess from the 70s. Covered in dust and bearing the marks of its age, this CL450 has certainly seen better days. But fear not, because we're about to breathe new life into this relic of the past.
From the moment I laid eyes on this vintage gem, I knew it was destined for greatness once again. With the support of my trusty tools and a sprinkle of elbow grease, we're about to embark on a restoration journey like no other.
In this video, you'll witness every step of the process as we meticulously dismantle, clean, and refurbish every inch of this CL450. From the engine to the frame, no detail will be overlooked as we strive to bring this once-majestic machine back to its former glory.
But this isn't just about fixing mechanical issues - it's also a journey of discovery. As we peel back the layers of history, we'll uncover the stories embedded within this bike. Who was its previous owner? What adventures did it embark on before retiring to its slumber? These are the questions that fuel our passion for vintage motorcycles.
So grab a wrench, buckle up, and join me on this exhilarating ride as we revive the spirit of a 1974 Honda CL450. Together, we'll prove that with dedication and a little bit of magic, even the oldest bikes can roar back to life once more.

I've always been impressed by that old Honda dual overhead cam 450 engine. Makes good power, plenty of torque. Looking forward to see how this project turns out!

back in 1976 I had a 1972 CL450, it along with my 72 VW Beetle were the 2 most dependable modes of transportation I have ever owned to this very day, got my first speeding ticket on the Honda, 92 in a 55mph zone, thanks for the flashback.

Lovely once again. I bumped into something I had not seen before. A young man I know is bringing back a '78 Suzuki 550. These Mikuni carburetors has two adjustment for mixture. An air screw on the filter side. and a liquid screw on the engine side. Everything I've worked before had one or the other. Have you seen this berfore? Suggestions on where to start? I normally do 1.5 on liquid mix and on air screws 3/4 to one turn out. Right now running rich because carbs are dribbling overfull. I suspect the O-ring between the seat and body, but haven't gone back in to verify.

Have not decided how far I will take it. After I clean it I will have a better handle on how bad the rust is. Right now it looks like everything that has chrome needs to be replaced or replated.

Thanks for 🪓ing the question. Let me start by saying, I ain’t no expert!!! I am sure you could treat it like rusted metal. Sand, skim, prime then paint. Or you could just grab a can of paint and spray what you see like the previous owner did. 🤣 Thanks for watching
