Another youtuber Motordyne G35 did a video on oil for the VQ35 and brought up this lab that analyses oils based on what oil was used and what debris are in the oil. Its blackstone labs you can check out their results to find which oil you wanna use based off of actual results. N btw castrol proves to be a good oil for the vq from those results. Love the vids man keep em comin!

There's a whole science to oil quality, and it is profoundly complex. However, I found that Amsoil, and eneos fully synthetic are the best oils for 350z's. There are a plethora of UOA's that support that they are indeed the best oil's for our cars. Even when doing 3,000 mile intervals, the trace elements found that indicate wear were significant when compared to other fully synthetic oils.
@AnthonyJ3507 жыл бұрын
Erik J That's interesting, the car only been getting Eneos till this video. Can you link some of analysises?
@EriksWorld147 жыл бұрын
my350z.com/forum/engine-and-drivetrain/258663-vq-oil-analysis-and-info.html This is an old thread concerning UOA's for our engine. From my testing (2 UOA's for amsoil and 2 for Eneos), Eneos outperformed amsoil, which is largely considered to be the very best when it comes to wear trends. Eneos' current GF-5 oil is not mentioned in the article (or if it it is not the current "formula"), but I have researched the exact specifications for the oil, and the results I've been getting with my HR, which has 160k miles on it, far exceed cars with less miles. I also Dynoed my car at 289HP to the wheels on eneos oil with at least a thousand city miles on it, and the OUA after did not show above average wear from what I have been getting in the past. I'm super big into reliability, so I probably care about this more than is needed haha.

When I was researching exhausts in order to determine the best pre manufactured exhaust setup, I debated the motordyne ART pipes+y pipe+shockwave setup. However, Tomei's exhaust system just cannot be matched in terms of the R&D done to optimize. Motordyne has done their homework too, but i'm quite content with my my Tomei setup. And perhaps most importantly, its almost entirely rasp free!
@AnthonyJ3507 жыл бұрын
Erik J Those single exit exhaust systems sound really good. It's just not my taste for styling though. Great product though.
@EriksWorld147 жыл бұрын
Lol I spoke hypothetically about something I researched about a year ago when I was looking for a nice exhaust system. Why would I mentioned the fact I had impulsively bought two exhausts (since bragging about your parts list online doesn't get you anywhere)? I bought the Motordyne and Tomei setup within three months of one another since I had to wait nearly four months to acquire the Tomei because it had been back ordered. I impulsively bought the Motordyne setup, since I had already acquired ART pipes, and the exhaust leak I had at my Y pipe was making my car sound like a weed wacker lol. I had the money to throw at it so I did, and I figured it would be relatively easy to sell it since it has become such a popular exhaust. Because I was initially disillusioned by the fact that I had to wait so long for my first choice, I consolidated myself with my 2nd choice. Despite running the Motordyne shockwave for 3-4 months, and falling in love with the throaty punch and depth of sound, I was too excited about having a full Tomei setup and the prospect of tuning, that I didn't think twice about switching it out. I have not missed the motordyne, except when sitting in traffic (: But thank you again for making it obvious how inexcusably hypocritical, unapologetically biased, and shamelessly ignorant you are, big guy. I'm beginning to think your unnecessary antagonizing, and persistent (baseless) claims, are your attempt to compensate for something else (; .

I was given flak because I bring my car to shops for some work, and that's because I want the best result if I'm inexperienced in the manner. We can see when parts aren't prefabbed for him like the exhaust the workmanship is low.

Just did a 4 brembo caliper upgrade, you are like millimeters away from being on the money for jack stands. You dont put them horizontally right on the pinch seam or closer to the outsides of the car right on the side skirt plastic. It has a thick ass solid spot near the wheel wells just along the inside side of the car. My past 3 nissan/infinity cars have had the spot where you put your stands crumpled in pretty severely. These cars arent designed to have that much weight on the unibody. Especially with any rust it could punch trough randomly while being held up. Stay safe out there 👍

Interesting because the VW/ Audi dealership that my friend works at the techs love the Castrol professional. Now the cars you see the oil galleries gunk up, is that your own vehicle or customers? Because a lot of the new Audis are small displacement turbo applications that make good power but generate a lot of heat. Is it possible customers are driving the car hard and not allowing the cars to cool down enough and are not changing the oil at recommended intervals? A lot of VQ owners also prefer to use Castrol Synthetic if you talk to other owners. 2 of my other friends have VQ motors and theirs were always more quiet than mine till I switched over. I have a video where I do a heat test and someone commented how loud mine was at idle vs the other vehicle.

AnthonyJ350 Customers cars. I won't use anything other than Liqui Moly again. Had a '69 Triumph Spitfire and a Opel Corsa that both started getting clogged.. The walls in the engine dries out, the oil runs down and the last bit dries to a crisp, leaving a NASTY deposit... Not sure how the new oil fairs, but I can definitely still see that drying up process...
