Amazed that those lawmakers in California have never driven north. When I drove 18 wheel trucks my semi had a full workout going up those moutains getting to Oregon or going east over the Sierra Nevada. Any RV would also need to be in perfect mechanical condition too. The good thing about a diesel is they basically run gallons per hour. Just more hours to get up the mountain in low gears. Can't do that with an EV. That charge guage would just fall to zero. But maybe California needs to just shut down for a few years to figure that out :)

Just crazy. I know some people here in CA that have either sold their DP's and given up the lifestyle due to the yearly inspections, or, have them registered in Nevada. For something that sees 3-5K miles per year is crazy that the states need that small sliver to clean up our air. For our situation we have the rig in a storage yard without power and we go to fairgrounds with only 20A of power - how do we charge up an EVMH?

Fortunately and unfortunately we live in San Diego and yes we were not allowed to register our diesel pusher until I sent the clean air folks here. All rv’ers are in a panic here and department of motor vehicles don’t know what’s going on? It’s through clean air folks and if you call them you have hours if not a day to answer the phone! Finally we figured out that for 1st year we just need to send $60 nothing else and they sent my registration!!

I think this is utterly ridiculous! I just googled how many charging stations are near me in Monroe, NC. There are 3. I live near Charlotte,NC-about 30+ minutes away. There aren’t enough places to charge a vehicle if you choose to buy one. Plus no way that I’m going to pull over for a hour on a trip to charge up a vehicle!!

Don’t they realize trucking companies r trying to go & stay clean?! A lot of trucks on the road now r on CNG, propane, or run DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) systems that clean the exhaust as it is expelled. C’mon, people help fight this! It. Makes. No. Sense!

I am hearing more and more about hydrogen fueled vehicles (zero emissions). I have seen many articles on how he is developing kits for all internal combustion engines including diesel. So the government needs to get the hydrogen resources in place. Once vehicles can be converted, we are not left with a lot of wasted vehicles as we would if they had to be parked when electric becomes mandatory(if that is a possibility).

1:01 Hi Mj and Izzy, This state (California) and all the other states involved and perusing this agenda will see severe losses in sales tax and registrations on all these sales. Our state California is looking at a minimum of $135 million annually just on Motorhomes sales tax loss ( 5900 units sold annually New diesels average of $300K each) not to mention the registration fees and so on. Just digging the hole deeper and deeper. They have a state deficit. This will stop as soon as the money drys up. Yes you will be able to go buy one in another state, save lots of tax dollars and registration then drive it 7500 miles and bring it in as used and they can only hope you register it in the state. Just dumb. And you still will have these Motorhomes running around here regardless of the rules but loosing all the tax and registration dollars. Never mind the taxes collected on sales commissions and wages from all those dealer sales of new units. It will change because they just only have c- students running those agencies mostly appointed by the top leaders. Go figure. Only time people learn is when it cost them money, otherwise it’s someone else’s problem. I was strongly debating to register my coach in Montana 3 years ago and save the $15k sales tax and over $1700 manually in registration but chose to just bite the bullet as I love this state. Now I don’t know if I made a mistake. The harassment over the diesel registration is another problem. They wanted $30 to issue the tags from carb after paying the $1100 registration with DMV. Montana would have been $375 each year no sales tax and I would have the 15K to buy new tires every 3 years due to the severity of potholes I have to run on in California highways because they are spending money on other projects life trains to no-where. This is how good things get ruined. Sorry about the rant but this is all accurate. Time will prove it. Love your Chanel and watch it all the time. Thanks. 1:49 1:49

Imagine what would happen if 10 new ELECTRIC RV's pulled into your favorite KOA and all plugged in for recharging! It would bring down the whole campground (and perhaps the whole town). If politicians mandate electric RV's, and if manufacturers could make such a thing, the cost of new infrastructure at campgrounds all across America would drive overnight prices through the roof. And that would kill an industry that we all love. Invite your local representative to go with you on an RV trip to the Grand Canyon (or other National Park). That might open his/her eyes.

Hang on folks, the ramifications are huge.

To my understanding if the U.S.A. carbon output were absolute zero it would make less than 1% global difference. Kinda makes this whole discussion rather pointless. When technology is advanced to the point that it makes financial sense, then and only then will electrification be ushered in with open arms. Currently, battery power is not practical for sustained travel over long distances. Additionally, any vehicle that sees use on a limited basis should be treated differently than a fleet of transport trucks than run on a continuous basis. My opinion.
@lcc5299 күн бұрын
I say let those states ban the sale. It will only hurt their economies. Now I know it's a burden for those that live in that state who now need to buy and maybe registered their new vehicle out of state, but that should be self correcting when all the dealerships move out of the state and each state loses jobes and tax money. All that said, come to the midwest were we will be the last states to do something this foolish to our farmers who feed everyone in those states.
@chooper1122Күн бұрын
So how is this going to affect the markets. So are they focused on consumer products or should they focus on commercial. How many transport trucks are on the road, what about farm equipment, construction equipment, what about trains and what about container ships. So let’s take away the citizens freedom and let the corporations and their owners continue to pollute. These people who setup these policies are hypocrites and we saw this recently with the meetings in Davos. I don’t know how many, but there were a lot of private jets flown to that location. This is one of the reasons that Trump is in power because there are too many leader’s espousing carbon reduction while they ignore their own policies made up to benefit them.
@Super_C_Chows27 күн бұрын
All of this must be pushed back, outside of Motor homes this simply doesn't make sense. I get people want clean air, however you can get clean emissions from current fossil fuel engines. The people that want clean air also need food to survive. The food chain from the farm to fork absolutely comes to a halt without fossil fuels. Much of the supply chain has moved to electric but at a HUGE cost and not through the entire supply chain. We are decades before we get there. As far as California, i just assume not do business there.

It’s hard to believe that they want to trade the best fuel economy and the cleanest emissions diesel engines in history for non existent inefficient gas and coal fired generation of slow charging electric powered vehicles.With today’s technology,the batteries and energy production are so bad that the pollution will be much worse than it is now. Take battery powered tools. The tools are cheap and the batteries are expensive and die in a short time period and you throw them away and get new ones. I’m going back to corded tools to save money and cut down on waste and toxic chemicals in the environment.

It will change the TOTAL ppm by less than 0.01% due to the large country across the big pond (China) not even giving a single care about emissions. Never mind the increased costs due to poor shipping applications for the residents of those states. Just another flawed concept originating from CA. If the big lottery ticket winners "didn't live in that state" it would probably have a hard time keeping the state government up and running. The EV car incentive was another flawed full circle concept; increased demand on a struggling grid AND the loss of their precious gas tax revenue due to fewer cars buying fuel. Good on paper but a bad end game with some heavy unintended consequences. If they keep producing these types of policies, those states WILL HAVE the best air quality because of the mass exodus that they will cause. 😀
