You are so right regarding the hierarchy of needs. Six years ago I had a quadruple heart bypass, up to that point I accumulated so much stuff that I thought was important. The reality is that all you need are the basics in life, shelter, food, health etc.. Many people spend their lives struggling to buy the latest phone, the best car, bigger house etc… and the reality is that it will not bring you happiness. Also the stress you put yourself under trying to pay for all this just isn’t worth it. Some of the happiest people I’ve ever met have very little. There are no pockets in shrouds, as they say. Thanks again Alan for another entertaining gem. 😊👍🏻
@MotorHomeBeepBeep2 ай бұрын
Hello Andrew, I'm pleased that you are obviously feeling better after having to go through that, but it's definitely true. There's nothing wrong with money and possessions but not the expense of your life and giving you stress and taking your time is hitting the balance is it not. I think you're right. People jump on their hamster wheel too much and get too little in return when you watch these documentaries of people living in remote jungles because they have relationships they feel happy they not dragged away by society. If I was a multi-millionaire, I certainly wouldn't buy lots of property and objects that need looking after you're right, relationships, friendships and basic needs are all we really need. Thank you for your excellent comment. Always great to see you. Alan

I met him once I was waiting for my lift to work and Keith came along the main road, he waved and pulled up, he asked me if I was okay and shook my hand, we had a great chat and he was such a lovely guy, if I hadn’t have been going to work I would have offered him a coffee, after our chat I felt like I had been speaking to somebody who I had known for years, I never bothered him about asking for an autograph or about Orville or Cuddles, it was just an ordinary chat between two people passing time, I rarely meet anybody like that, I was quite upset when he passed away, he had so much talent, R.I.P Keith, it was a pleasure to have met you.

Keith Harris and Orville was prime time Saturday night viewing back in the day...I remember it well..I often wonder what happend to Orvville after Keith passed? ...Thanks Alan a great tribute. Again🎉 It was nice to see Orville on the headstone. Its like Orville died with Keith.

One of the subscribers give me the full lowdown. Mark and what happened and the Orville was given to a friend of his and then to a committee of people. In other words, he's being looked after. I can't remember the details at the moment but I do truly believe he was a very talented performer and it was a shame took things badly sometimes. Thank you and good night

Thanks again Alan, fab video. Many years ago when I was a student Nurse we had to learn Maslow hierarchy of needs and you’re absolutely right we don’t need everything else with bells on to self actualise. But we all do reach out at least one point in our lives thinking this may make our life better, but the truth is that we don’t really need it xXx ❤

Hi Nyree Malows chart must have been something that they used a lot with student nurses. You're the second one to say that. Do you think because the pay was low they will need you to be happy anyway 😂 I'm only joking 👍 there isn't a single person living. That's a rock that gets it all right but if you can think and be content. It certainly gets a lot better. Thank you for your excellent comment ☺️

Don't sell yourself short Alan, I follow your channel because you are a lovely genuine guy and I like the way you present your content and yes of course I'm interested in the person but you add your spin with knowledge, humour and compassion and you are also very respectful at the gravesite. You have a way of presenting that keeps it interesting all the way through. I couldn't find the whole interview with Louis Theroux and Keith but I saw an excerpt. His gravestone is very fitting ❤

I think it was Bobby Davro who told the story of when Keith was very ill........they had a video chat on the computer. Bobby said, at the time of the call, Keith was very ill and bald because of his treatment, he was wearing a wig. Towards the end of the video call a green wing reached over the top of Keiths head and lifted Keiths wig off, held it just above his head then replaced it........Everyone broke out in full on laughter. Funny till the very end.

I remember him in Blackpool Victoria as my father in law was in the next ward. He was quite a celebrity as everyone was talking about him and how concerned they were about his health before he passed. So it just goes to show that your perceptions of how others see you can be inaccurate. Bless him. He was very good. Hope you enjoyed Blackpool Alan. Have you done Charlie Cairoli? He's in Carleton Crematorium I think.

Hello Ann, I've just taken a screenshot cuz I've got to admit I don't know what that person is but I did enjoy Blackpool I went down the front I think he's quite a unique class. Although I have a funny story, I took my partner to a bed and breakfast and it's got to be the worst one I've ever experienced. I won't mention the name but it was on the front that's quite a few years ago about 5. but but I'm sure this quite a lot of good ones and inexpensive 😀

@@annoldham3018 The traditional Blackpool hard-faced bed and breakfast lady was a bit of a joke about experienced that too where they hit the gong and everybody had to go for breakfast with her standing with folded arms scowling. I remember another one where she stopped people coming in to watch the act at night because they weren't residents. Nice story about Violet being well received by the locals as a kid saw her in Bradford also in a Rolls Royce in Bradford that's my only claim :-)

@@MotorHomeBeepBeep he came across as really nice fella there was about 5 of us lads and he just fitted in with us like we were long lost mates. He was very entertaining telling us some funny stories about famous people and how he hated the stuck up ones. He told us about the story in the sun coming out he got paid thousands and it was all BS to sell the story for few quid just because he hated the press he was on every show at the time we met was earning big money from tv shows so he didn’t need the money which i thought was brilliant. Nice guy lived the life most could only dream about.

Another great VLOG, well done Alan. I enjoyed as always the story behind the person. My wife loves your voice, can I ask where you originally come from, we have an idea but it would be nice to know. Hi Cfp I was born in Bradford so did you get it correct? Or were you many miles out?
