Yup....I have the exact same one from 2024 and agree. What others might see as missing options, I see as great minimalism...highlight the most needed features and make those shine, while not wasting money on flashy huge screens, etc that don't actually add that much to the overall experience.

We owned a 2017 CR-V for 7 years. One of the most impressive vehicles we've ever had. With retirement approaching next year, we started looking for our next SUV for doing some traveling. The CR-V Hybrid was at the top of our list. That is until I started noticing the new Santa Fe hybrid Calligraphy. Once we took a test drive there was no going back. I'm sure we'd have been super happy with the Honda. The extra money for the Santa Fe was a no-brainer for us. Why save money for all those years if you're not going to spend it.

MY23 Accord Hybrid owner here. No 360 degree camera, could see that there were signs of interior light option that was not included for the US, no folding mirror... All of which would be included for any Hyundai and Kia products at the similar price range. The product planners at Honda pretty much screwed up. Going to be my last Honda... and this coming from a former Renault-Nissan engineer. You made a good choice.

This vehicle is to me the most tempting in its class compare to the other 4 options. I had a test drive and it feels so much better to me than the RAV 4 hybrid. However, I think I am going to wait 2026 before I buy one. I hope that Honda is listening to the potential buyers who are looking for a few more refine touches for the price point of the vehicle. A 360 camera would be a must for me as I felt that the head rests and the seat belts of the back seats interfere significantly with the visibility at the back of the vehicle. I am a short person. Yes fast heating seat is important even here on Vancouver Island as that leather fabric is cold. I wish they would offer a cosier fabric even on the top trim. Finaly, some more appealing colours and material options although this would not be a deal breaker.

Zach it’s easy to tell you are in Vancouver because here in the east in Quebec it goes like this : use gloved hand to knock snow off drivers side door window then open door start car press heated seat button then open back door get out your scraper/ brush then brush snow off car scrap windows by then your seats are HoT ! Ps I’m a Honda guy since 1993. I’d give my left nut for that new crv. If someone else made the payment s lol

For this price, CR-V Hybrid Touring ($43,000 USD) is missing: 1) HUD 2) 360 DEG camera 3) vented seats 4) anemic interior & outdated dash 5) panoramic sunroof 6) Acoustic sound deadening 7) remote smart parking 8) finger print engine start

Happy to see your take on the CR-V. I bought a '25 Sport-L l in July and have enjoyed it. I agree that the seat warmer is slow-ish, but works really well to heat my bum and back. I miss rain-sensing wipers on my trim, headlights are not the greatest and no available fog lights, which in the PNW are super useful. I did look into a spare tire for longer road trips and may invest in one for peace of mind.

I've owned a Hybrid Touring for almost two years and it has been fantastic. The only missing feature is ventilated seats. Otherwise, the ride compliance and quiet interior are more upscale than you would expect which is why there's a premium on the price IMO. I get about 6.5L/100kms in summertime but that rises to 7.5L/100kms in winter. All from mixed driving.

I really enjoyed the videos you produce. That being said I have to take advantage of the last opportunity turn courage people to purchase a 2024 Toyota Venza INSTEAD. 2.5 liter Atkinson cycle engine that is naturally aspirated. (so no turbo to wear out or maintain) It only comes in all-wheel drive. And with the extra torque of the rear electric motor/generator it accelerates like a V6 but is still a gas sipping 4 cylinder. Also, there's no mechanical drivetrain to the rear wheels to maintain or wear out. It's also quieter than the RAV4. (Admittedly it's a bit noisier than a loaded model CRV, but the interior is very nice!) This hybrid system is so reliable Mazda is now using it. Anyway thanks for the video.

Battery cost replacement is $8000 plus $3000 to install quoted per 2 different Honda Dealerships in Ontario- considering the hybrid system costs $2000 more than gas plus same highway mileage once the battery depletes plus no spare tire hard to justify hybrid over the gas model.

I have a 2023 CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring, and I agree with your review in terms of drivability and handling. Recalls aside, I must say that build quality leaves much to be desired. Yes, I had the sticky steering issue. I also had a misaligned rear power hatch, grill pieces that have come loose and a headliner panel that fell off. Honda - at both the corporate level and the dealer level have offered tepid response. This was my first Honda and I chose it partly on its reputation for quality and reliability. Either that reputation is ill deserved or I am very unlucky.

In the US where I live dealers are discounting the CRV. The RAV4 is hard to get and dealers are marking it up above MSRP. The CX 50 they are only taking orders and quoting 3 months until delivery. I have had a bad experience with Hyundai not standing behind their vehicles and telling me a quart of oil every 3k miles is acceptable. Thus why I am leaning towards the Honda

Great review. Even though I like the hybrid powertrain I would buy the CRV EX non hybrid. It has a lot less "all black" interior and wheels, along with light color fabric seats. Sadly, in the US midwest dealers only stock dark interior and exterior color CRV's. I wish you could give a rough timeline for custom ordering from Honda. I know o Toyota has a 6 to12 month wait for RAV4.

I think "standing behind the product" is an interesting subject for the car market - all companies have recalls but it would be good to know which companies are the best when it comes to customer service. Savageese reviewers in the US for instance have noted how awful Kia/Hyundai are about actually fixing problems - granted this may be at a dealer level - and may be different than the Canadian market. I remember a LOT of angry Honda owners complaining about oil dilution problems and that Honda was not, in their view, dealing with the problem properly (or at all).

I took one out for a test drive. 52,100 plus tax, with a lot of missing features, and a rather bland and dated dash. The finish was pretty pedestrian at this price point. Not a lot of power either. I asked the dealer about the non hybrid version, and he told me that it was about 44k fully loaded. BUT NO LEATHER SEATS. You have to upgrade to hybrid to get leather seats. I see no value here, unless you primarily do city driving then it may be worth it.

Honda's engineering is second to none. I know its not gonna happen but I would love to see a strip out test of all the cars in this class where everything gets disassembled, checked for materials' standards and tolerances as well as the engineering standard of the whole project: rust proofing, welding standards, crash test results, thickness of metal sheeting and its composition, paint standards... starting with how many paint layers and thicknessOften with cars what a customer can't see counts more than what is visible...makers know that people buy with (what is visible to) their eyes & hearts and not so much with their brains. The fact that the market is made of 3 years lease & next doesn't help the cause of makers that build their cars to stand the test of time, something that matters to long term keepers (min of 10 years from new...) who rarely suffer depreciation horrors. I wish car journalists could just get together, buy one car together, strip it out, get the whole thing inspected and then share the results with their audiences! You are so many that I tink it is feasible!

Blow a sidewall in the middle of nowhere with no cell service and good luck with that can of goop! I have written to Acura Canada but received the expected corporate answer that it is a weight and fuel saving measure. That is a load of crap. The very least these car companies could do is offer a spare as an option. I have opened a case with Transport Canada as I consider this a safety issue.

I'm just not seeing much reason to get the Honda CRV hybrid in any trim over a Hyundai Tucson hybrid. Even the looks of the CRV are pretty boring.

The hybrid systems are designed differently. Honda has an electric drive with the engine kicking in at higher speeds- no traditional transmission- just a clutch which only engages at the higher speed. I believe the Korean hybrids have an electric motor sandwiched between the engine and a conventional auto transmission. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you can’t pass with this it’s not the car. I’ve had mine on a mountainous highway with a speed limit of 120, so everyone is doing 130…still lots of juice left to pass (even up hill).

Also my seats are fading and looking worn. The honeycomb air vent is awful keeps you from using phone holders and it stays dusty with even vacuuming. The screen and backup camera are cheap and the software is running it is a joke and stops working all the time.

A plug-in hybrid CR-V is available in Europe and China. It makes use of a 17.7kWh battery, an electric motor and a 2.0 4cyl engine with 181hp. It’s front-wheel drive only and is a rip-off (at least in the UK).

My biggest concern would be the car catching fire .The battery is bellow the rear seat where you put your kids usually. And they do catch fire just look at the clip on KZbin with a new CRV starting to burn while the driver is on the highway first the smell of burning, then smoke then the whole car is like a volcano. When you run over something on the road it starts the reaction.
