5'9" 150lbs. Never stepped foot on a dirtbike. Rode my in laws 250 and then my uncles built yzf 450. Went out and bought me a crf450R. Love the thing. I already have clutch and gas control naturally as I drive manual. I also have respect for the bike. If you have some experience with a manual gearbox and respect for the power I don't think any bike is too big. I only see physical strength as the only obstacle if you're undersized.

A 2002 Xr80r was the first dirt bike I bought as well! Also got it for the price because it also wasn't running. Wanted to learn how to fix them. Once I got used to it, It wasn't long till I realized I was too big for it so I ended up selling it and getting a Ttr225. Already miss that bike though.

I have had experience on a Honda Crf50, Honda Crf110 and I only rode a Honda Crf125 once but it is a little bit difficult for me to start the crf125 and when I am riding a crf110 I got a feeling that I would be too big for the bike. I like kick starter bikes aswell. I am also thinking of a bike to grow into, Any ideas of what Honda bike I should get?

Hey I'm 15 years old 6'1" 170 pounds and I've rode a Honda 50cc (3-gears) that doesn't have a clutch for around 2 years now which is the only experience I have on a bike. As you can imagine it is very, very small for me to ride. I want to move up in size and speed of the bike so where I can comfortably fit onto the bike and it won't be too hard for me to get used to since I don't have much experience in riding dirt bikes outside of the small 50cc Honda I mentioned earlier. Which dirtbike and size do you recommend me moving up to? I would really appreciate the input, thank you

I already posted a comment here, but I'm back with another question. I'm 6'1, 140 lbs, turning 16 in a month, I currently ride a TT-R110 and I think an upgrade is long overdue. I was looking for 250 four-strokes. But after talking to some people on Reddit and telling them that most (used) bikes being sold in my area are two-strokes, they told me that I would also be able to ride a 250 two-stroke. I would be using it to trail ride, ride fields, some roads. I don't have any racing experience, but I have a couple years experience riding trails. Would jumping from a TT-R110 to a 250 two-stroke be too big of a jump? I'm guessing it might be a little big at first, but I still have some growing to do. I was able to handle a XR350R fine, although it was a bit heavier than I want my bike to be. If you have a specific bike or anything you would recommend, please let me know. After selling both of my TT-Rs, and using some extra cash, my budget will be around $2500.

@Reaperdeathpunch
@Reaperdeathpunch 8 жыл бұрын
+moist Yeah, it's just a little smaller than a 250 and slow as hell so if you want a good bike get a 250 or 450 as both of which are faster than the XR350 as it's more a Dual sport than a dirtbike. but hey if it's free take it if you want it. especially since new dirtbikes are expensive.

I'm 15, 5'11 and 160 lbs with no experiance with motorbikes but well trained on bikes as a whole. I'm looking for something $3,500 and below, wanting to ride both on and off the road, and wanting it to be relatively new. What should I get? Be descriptive.

I have been riding ATVs and snowmobiles all my life in rural Alaska, where nobody around me has dirt bikes, thus, me having no experience. I am about to move to the suburbs of a large city in Colorado, and I want to get into dirt biking so I could ride on bike trails and road shoulders. I would like to know what kind of bike would be best for me without looking ridiculous. I already have experience with clutch and shifters. I'm 5'11 and 16 years old.

+cat vs dog Honestly start out with a cheap pit bike once you can ride good get maybe a 230/150 or try a 2 stroke 125, with like a $300 pit bike it doesnt matter if you drop/crash it

Cole Pursell Get a 110 and then when you are confident i guess you could buy a bore kit if it is a 2 stroke and it will make it a 125 but still be the same size.

Cole Pursell im 12, 125 pounds,5,4 ,and have pretty long legs. I have a klx 110 and it feels small for me and im planning to get an kx 125 or an klx140. Height doesnt really matter its about your legs, weight, and strength. I would try an 125 and 4 stroke of course because you proably cant handle an 2 stroke. At 152 pounds your pretty heavy for an 110 and no offense it would feel like crap. The suspension would also be stress out. If i were you try to go to dealer stores that you can test ride dirtbike. Sit on it and ride around. After that pick the one that makes you feel at home or you really like.

I am 5'6 and 125lbs. It is true that you can only have 1 foot on the ground. But becareful, it is best to have both feet on the ground but 1 is fine. And if you truely believe you are experienced enough on a crf 150 then move up to a 250. I have a 250 at home and this shit can go 80 on trails, fast as hell!

I have an urgent question. I'm looking to buy a used dirt bike that is under $2,500. I ride a Honda trx450r, it has a ton of power and has over $5,000 of aftermarket parts on it. I have been riding ATV's my entire life. I have only been riding on a dirt bike once. I'm looking to get a 2 stroke dirt bike, preferably a 125 or 250. I am 5'10 and weigh 130. I know how to ride extremely well. Im thinking about going straight to a 250 2 stroke, because I ride a 450 4 stroke. I was just wondering if a 250 2 stroke is a good first dirt bike for myself, or if I should start on a 125.

I'm currently on a 2018 CRF250L which is IMO one of the best bikes to rip up some simple trails with and still be street legal from a reliability stand point... I modified mine with a full aftermarket pipe and header, EJK Power Commander, 13tooth front sprocket, got rid of the awful mirrors and rock hand guards with built in mirrors, also got rid of the Tail lights and went with an aftermarket tail tidy.... all said and done I shaved about 25 lbs of weight and added quite a bit of power, I'm not done modifying it but it's were I like it for now. I have taken it on our local tracks during open track days but your busting your ass off on it and really working the bike.... I know many will argue all these much cooler bikes like KTM and Yamaha Super MOto yadda yadda... blah...blah... If i wanted to ride a street legal MX bike on road, I'd buy the CRF450L and modify it... Trust me I ride them stock at work all the time and the bike has ballz, when I buy my own I will be going full pipe, tail tidy and hand guards w/mirrors... Buy what you are comfortable on, there is a bike for every type of rider, situation, experience level and even terrain that you ride on... don't let your ego or friends pressure you into something out of your comfort zone, this is a sure way to scare yourself out of the sport... Buy the right size and move up the ladder, I promise you will get much more out of your MX / Motorcycle riding life... Hope this helped... Remember to keep both wheels on the ground... lol Alex

I'm 14 ,5'8 ,128 pounds ride a rm 125 I like it but I personally think I should be riding a 250 cause I like 4 strokes better. They just have a better feel and have bottom and top end. With 125s I always need to be in the power and I just like to have more control on the bike instead of the bike riding me.
