Now THIS is a video we've been chomping at the bit for over the past few months to bring you all, the 351 Windsor stroker motor for Motorsports Molly is done! The great folks at CAMS in Canton have built a nasty little motor for her, now measuring out at 410 cubic inches and much MUCH meaner than Ford ever planned on it being!
If you are familiar with Molly and her Mustang, you would know that unfortunately after we got all her suspension issues resolved and she took it directly to the track and on the FIRST pass she made with it... well it ended badly. Unfortunately that 302 was completely trashed so with all options open for a new motor build she made a VERY wise decision and went for a 351w based build, extra inches are always better right?! Over all she's gaining displacement, durability, and stepping up to an overall better flatform while also staying FORD!
So a few specs on the build 351w based, 410 Scat forged rotating assembly, ICON forged flat top pistons, AFR 220 heads, FAST Stake 5 Billet Hydraulic Roller Camshaft, high rise single plane intake, all topped off with a 1050 carb built for ethanol. With the static compression in the range of 12.5 : 1 it's stout but still well within the safety ranges of e85 fuels. As you can see and hear, this thing is snappy and very very healthy should be a blast in her little notch back fox body mustang!
Huge thank you to CAMS for all the work they did on this build and the dances that had to be done to make parts availability work. Thank you to CIA Performance for the spot on e85 fuel we needed in order to properly test and tune this purple monster on the dyno. Of course the biggest thank you to Motorsports Molly for allowing us to be a part of this project and journey with her!
Lucore Automotive is a small independent american small business located just outside Columbus Ohio. While we are a full service shop that maintains and repairs countless daily drivers we are also well known for our work on classics, race cars, and collector cars.
We would like to thank all of our friends, fans, follower, supporters, subscribers, and most importantly customers for being here with us! Without the wonderful people who let us work on their toys, and help their dreams come true we wouldn't be in business!

Smart choice with the mill motor. You can actually bleed FE power out of the ol' Windsor, always loved them. My next step would be Coyote Gen II or III if not straight to a Voodoo.

Very nice. Those guys at CAMS are top shelf individuals. You can't ask for a better group of guys. They put together a engine for us that ended up in a pulling tractor some time back. It didn't start out going into a tractor, but thats where it ended up. And last I knew that engine was still making passes.

@@hiddenhollowloft5678 Maybe 607hp on E85 is low ballin' it. That T5 ain't gonna cut it. I say put a stout automatic behind that Windsor. That way no missing gears, more consistent times when she goes to the track. I'm just saying from experience popping synchronizers , breaking 2nd gear , breaking 3rd gear and this was a G-Force T56 . It gets expensive plus loosing a race or just a bad run at the track. Manuals are fun. When cash or a grudge race is on the line you want a automatic.

That's one of the absolute worst parts about e85, it does NOT do nice things when left sitting! Even in e85 rated hardware, it's just a very angry fluid. That and having to constantly check your quality is really REALLY annoying. But, it's waaaaaay cheaper and more available than race gas!

You say the dyno headers have much more flow. How much flow is, much more flow?
@LucoreAuto
@LucoreAuto 3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it's hard to put an exact number on the additional flow but it's considerable. If you watch other dyno room videos they are almost always using "dyno headers" which typically sweep way out and have larger than normal diameter pipes. Especially if the motor is big/angry enough to see a restriction on the exhaust side it can be a considerable gain. On Molly's motor here, I would guess there would be a good 15-20hp difference at the crank just by that swap.

@LucoreAuto

Yes sir that's a BIG portion of the benefits of doing an engine dyno like this. You can test all kinds of changes, adjusting timing, change jets/bleeds/etc and see how it effects things immediately. Plus the benefit of checking for leaks and issues with MUCH better access than you would have when the motor is in the car.

@LucoreAuto
@LucoreAuto 3 жыл бұрын
@@andy347495 there are adjustments that can be made for drivablility and for changes in the chassis once everything is loaded on it. What they hunt for on the engine dyno is the "max power" point as far as initial timing and advance. Every engine is different and once you know exactly where that number is changes can be made to initial timing and to the curve if they chose to do that.

That guy running the Dyno should pay attention to how the rest of the world runs them. There's zero reason to let the absorber pull it down 4-500rpm after it's reached peak. That's very hard on the internal parts cause it's loaded so hard.

Just to get 10" of vacuum?🤔🤔🤔 Cost of Vacuum vs. Horsepower🤔🤔🤔🤔 If assisted brakes are keeping the hydraulic roller in there, go manual brakes(the cheapest route), and put a cam in there that's gonna win.
