LOL and 25 years younger than me,, heck two of my kids are older than 'ol Dad,, but neither ME nor my kids can hold a candle to the skills 'ol Dad owns AND we never chased drag racing like this wonderful family do which is why I am so drawn to them, all of them. The raporte' he has with his Wife and kids, his Mom and Dad is admirable,, a relationship that is seldom seen these days and that is a shame. Family values,, that's what America needs to get back to or we're doomed as a Nation.

Absolutely love the 55! I'm a huge fan of old school cars like the 55. I've got a 57 with a 377, M20 and 4.10's. I built it exactly the way I would have built it in high school as that is what I still think is cool. It's isn't fast by today's standards but it always puts a smile on my face. Racing it at a nostalgia race this coming weekend.

Great video. Car reminds me of my 55 that I bought from a friend in 1968. Fortunately I still have the car. After my kids left home to start their adult lives I pulled the car out of storage in 1995 and did a frame off restoration with many updates and have been enjoying it for 20 plus years.

My dad unfortunately passed away about two years back., me being a dumbass kid didn’t take advantage of gaining all his knowledge, carb tuning and valve adjusting is something I’d like to see and learn to get his 383 stroker nova going again, want to drop a solid roller in it. Was always his plan. For some odd reason this channel and you remind me of him quite a bit. Keep up the great content.

My mom and dad went to Los Vegas to get married in his 56 210 in 1975, I came a long 9 mo later. The 56 was my first car. On the way out to Edwards afb when I was 19 I had a blow out and rolled off the freeway and totaled it. My dad and I took the 327 and 4speed and built a nova.

Great car. My neighbors 3 boys older than myself would let me help them on summer nights back in the mid 60s build a 57 Chevy with a 327 and two four barrel carbs and a 4.56 rear. Great times great fun. Their family eventually moved out to California and I went in the Navy at 17 and eventually wound up in Nam. Really do miss those days. It’s when you had a car it became family. You would have fit right in back in those days. Cars in my opinion went down crapper I’d say around 72 and I feel never came back. That’s why watching your channel brings back so many good memories. I got my Christmas package from you guys. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing the videos. Artie 🇺🇸😊

Well 35 years went buy and the owner passed away ,weeks went by and his son came to.start getting ready to sale his dad's house and my old man seen him down there and tried one more time to buy car. They guy said he would let him know in few weeks. The son come by my dad's house and said he found a note from his dad from many years ago that said give Mr Sims first option to buy his car. Well long story short we got the car for $1500 but my old man never got to drive or ride in it he passed away and I got it going and we take her out every time weather permits. Awesome video brother. My dad was born in Massillon Ohio in 1912, had family that lived in Zanesville too. You remind me so much of my dad, our racing path was a little different, my brother started racing at the age of 5 before I was born, going in circles from the age of 5-12, then in high school he would drag my dads 57 Ranchero, three on the tree until my dad got tired of putting cluster gears in it, so a four speed was installed with a floor shifter, them motorcycle racing for the both of us then midgets and sprint cars, but my dad was a fan of all racing, growing up in Pomona, Ca with so many drag strips we went often. Thanks for your videos, it makes me remember the good ol days, especially being retired now . I see you shaking your head sometimes at your kids, my dad did the same as I did with mine 😂

That 4:56 is perfect since you guys most likely have no intention of taking it on freeway drive, it's an around town fun car to drive and has no other duties. You have other rigs set up for freeway hauls so why would you want to change what works The Sun tack looks alot like the Sun Super we used to desire back in the late '60's and we do note that you have the shift mark set at about 5700 even though you likely NEVER look at it,, you shift by ear. We LUV the car,, honestly LUV IT!
