*Disconnect the battery*,
1)hand vacuum pump
2)multi meter
3)power probe is helpful but not necessary
4)back probe pins (for back probing all you have to do is stick a pin down in the connector) (I don't do that or show that)
5)testing harness: if interested: Ecklers Manifold Air Pressure Sensor Tool, 1984 Part #: 25-102670-1 C1996
WARNING CAUTION : MAP sensor wires run directly to the ECM...be careful poking and prodding. You should never have the ignition in the on position on one of these old Crossfire's while hooking up wires etc....could spark, turn key on LAST.

My 1984 Corvette map sensor cable that is supposed to be connected to the ECT isn’t connected and I don’t know what to do or what cable I should buy. Do you have any suggestions?

Hey man im having a idling issues with my 1984 corvette.. When its idling then I give it some gas it sometimes drops RPM and dies any suggestions?

Sometimes you can just spray throttle body cleaner down in the throttle bodies and see a huge difference, I've done that before, especially if it sits all winter, fuel gets like varnish on the butterfly valves. I wouldn't use carburetor cleaner though, I would use throttle body cleaner. Just a suggestion, These are finicky cars Nick, sounds like a fuel issue...might wanna check the fuel pressure, FSM says the car will run on 9PSI but it won't, most of these cars run around 10.5 PSI. I would look at the fuel filter also. After that you just have to run some test on things like the TPS...if it is original might have a flat spot on it at the idle spot. like to know what you figure out, so let me know.
