Awesome! My TPS died and just started dumping fuel into the pots. I disconnected it and surprisingly it ran to get me home. Had no idea the positioning was so critical. Now I do!

This video saved me. Took my TPS off to change my valve cover gaskets on my 82 CE. Put everything back and engine light came on as well as car running rough. After running across this video everything is good again. Thank!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Mike for this awesome video. I followed your instructions and adjusted the TPS on my '82 Collector Edition (crossfire). The idle was fluctuating up and down prior to my making the adjustment. Much appreciated (and I subscribed to your channel).

Mike - thanks VERY much for making this video. Nice approach, camera and sound. You did a great job, and it will greatly help me to adjust my beloved `82 Crossfire's new TPS which I recently replaced, somewhat primitively, by marking and placing the new TPS with the old one. I can tell it needs a little adjustment and you provide the answer. I have "Subscribed" and "Liked" and want to express my sincere thanks! Hoping you have more in store for us. Dave V. @@Mikes84Corvette I did and got it all ready. I found out my problem isn’t with the actual tps. The ecu is sending 5 volts and the ground is grounding but the positive wire is giving out nothing.

Excellent Video... Where and what are those ends on the wires you made, So I can make jumps for mines?... Thanks

It should be set to volts - and read .525 +/- .075 at closed throttle.

Hmmmm interesting I did as you instructed... On my corvette it read .4.99 and can't go any higher then 5.25 hmmmm do have the connections wrong sirrr!!! Runs guuiiuud buuuuuuuuutt surgeszz at stop light or stop light!!. What am I doing wrong ssirrr!??? Or is my voltage on car too low or need to charge car battery for correct reading!!???
@Mikes84Corvette2 жыл бұрын
I really don’t think the battery will affect the reading. I could be wrong though.

You never explained what you were moving to adjust the voltage and we couldn’t see from the angle. You mind letting me know?
@jaydaug20084 жыл бұрын
the throttle position sensor stays loose..It is almost like timing your car moving the distributor but you are moving the sensor till it reads the right voltage then you lock it down

We need a good CLOSE UP VIEW. You cannot tell where you connected to , what the original wire colors are. You did not check for 5 volts on one wire, you did not compare the ground wire with the battery ground to determine if the ground wire to the ecm and ecm ground to the battery were the same.
