This whole series had the potential to be excellent, but it completely missed the mark. I would have loved for it to be 49% about the truck, 49% about the trip/route, and 2% about the journalists. Instead it's 98% about the journalists and 1% each about the truck & trip... Disappointed.

I think this was the best leg, and best presentation so far. we've learned everything we need to know about the trucks from the media events and drives. I really appreciate the fact that this ISN'T focused on the truck. Yea, its sort of like one long commercial. But...that's okay. Kind of reminds me of Ewan Macgregor and his travelog films. its not about the destination, its the journey. I think most of the hate on these videos came before the media reviews dropped, so people were starved for information at first. The motor trend videos really should have waited until after the colorado media event. although i see why you put them up first too. don't need to do everything at once. Looking forward to your long term review talking about day to day life with the truck but until then im content to watch you guys living the dream. soon we will be too!

I enjoyed the documentary. Yeah, maybe it didn't talk enough about the truck, but they were going through all sorts of terrain. The landscape of Utah is extremely diverse and they still only got a snapshot. Their pronunciation of Tremonton probably makes more sense than the actual pronunciation: TRĒ-män-tən with a glottal stop for the last "t"

I’m guessing no deterioration in power and performance at those altitudes, unlike with ICE vehicles Did Rivian have to set up charging points / stations for this trip , like they did for The Long Way Up etc So that new owners can replicate this ?? !!

That is a good point where EV has an advantage over ICEV.

Altitude isn't really a factor but temperature is, batteries don't like the cold. I wonder what the impact was on range, would be good to see how it's handled and how much range is affected by both cold and the battery heaters.

So no any kind of traction control or locker front and rear?
@fpartidafpartida3 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t need a locker because it doesn’t have a differential. It uses an motor to each of the wheels and the software handles the torque vectoring. So, yeah it has traction control based on the setting you choose. Rock crawling will take deeper pushes of the accelerator to get it going, sport mode will crank more power as you touch the pedal.
@Leilthold-3 жыл бұрын
@@fpartidafpartida i think the software will eliminate the wheel spin
@fpartidafpartida3 жыл бұрын
@@Leilthold- It will, to conserve energy. But the important thing is that it sends power to the wheels that grip. This is what a locker tries to do, but it does so by sending all the power to both wheels on the axel, regardless of grip.
