Yeah its shame they don't offer a turbo diesel in these platforms, because really with a similar relative cost for up grades to this vehicle it would be able to compete with the lifted coal rollers in the states. And (as far as a vehicle that size can) I wonder how the three axle design would compare to the two axle trucks in common offroading trials like mudding, hill climbing, tractor pulling, rock climbing etc. I doubt it could even spin a decent doughnut.

And I wonder from where you take the assumption that it would be better off road than the G 6x6. I don't know much about the capabilities of the american trucks, so I don't want to talk bad about them, but I think it's also fair to say that Mercedes can build totally reliable cars and has proved thousands of times that the G-class is really capable at driving off road.

The mercedes AMG 6X6 was originally built for the australian defence force to replace old rolls royce 6X6 vehicles as the main supply transport/gun carrier vehicle. Over 2,500 of them were made for the defence force and mercedes went and started making them for civilian markets as well.

if i won the lottery this would easily be one of the first things id buy. yea they stopped making the 6X6 last year but there are lots out there and im sure some owners would let it go if the price was right. then id send it to brabus unless it was already to my specs. to get it tuned to 700hp (because why not) if it wasnt already and have a black leather with red stitching interior to match those wheels. to me this is way too big to be a great offroader but it doesnt mean it is terrible. i mean look at the thing. a G wagon is menacing even in regular form. then you have one that is almost twice as high as thr regular one. i hate aftermarket lifted trucks but this fits the truck.
