Look all these engineering experts. lol. 2.9 0-60. But hey its to heavy. Give me a break. This car is a more than worthy update to the original. you don't have to worry about the electric motor longevity because this isn't a car that will see daily driving. It won't see the 75-100k miles of a typical car. Take the nostalgia goggles off people. This car is beautiful. i'd take this over the GT-R just based on looks alone.
@aoescool
@aoescool 8 жыл бұрын
exactly, people just hating to hate.. the crazy thing is if honda didnt build it like this they would complain its too slow.. but instead you get 0-60 in 3.. real tourqe vectoring which you only see in million dollar cars.. way more gas mileage of any super car in its price range , turnos with no turbo lag, and reliability of a honda.. all for 200k.. cant be beat!

***** They are entirely different cars as well. The GT-R is the top tuner in the world and the new NSX is a stepping stone to reasonably priced sport hybrids. Both cars have their place in history but IMO have very little to do with each other.

+nosirrahx Honda is the MOST known tuner brand in the entire planet... They made cars with the whole idea to tune them aftermarket right from the factory. You think we wont be seeing Tuned NSXs in a couple of years? If they can afford the car they can afford the ludicrous prices it will need to destroy a Tuned GT-R.

The first and second series (NA1 and NA2) NSX's depreciated bottomed out below $20k dollars before sky rocketing as people saw them as investment opportunities. I wouldn't expect this 2nd generation to do any different. Over the past few months I heard that a car's value bottoms out around the 10-15 year mark and if the car is desirable it will peak around the 30 year mark. The explanation I've heard given is that a 10 year puts the poster of the car he/she likes on the wall and 30 years later when they are 40 they have to money to buy the car they fantasized about when they were a kid.

Imo its the motor. They should of stayed w a n/a w the electronic motors. I havent driven one, but it may not be as responsive as the na1 and na2. Maybe a small v8 would of really interested people.

@@squidproquo2241 They missed everything. What made OG NSX so great was lightweight, lovely highbrevving na V6, manual transmission and mechanical unassisted feel-full steering. With tons of praticality and pop up headlights to boot all that for half the money of any lambo or ferrari. They taken away everything except low seating position at this point. It woudl be better if they found a way to reduce the entry price and say use same V6 as 6mt Coupe accord in a flatter supercar body, copying toyota's MR-2 recipe and having it start at price a bit higher than fully specced accord and then higher with more powerful variants. It would be perfect that way. Instead they overdone it techwise and its another soulless hybrid sportscar that sounds lile crap because of the turbo charging and auto transmission.

I currently own 2 original NSX's & no matter how hard I try to like this new version of the car, I just can't... I think it looks like a super-silly cartoon version of the original... The designers really failed... It is shameful that Honda allowed the designers to fudge-up the look of such a classic, beautiful car... Oh, & by they way, a fully stocked version is about $217K, so you would think that you would get a hand-built in Japan version with at least an 8-10 cylinder end-product(?)... No, still 6 cylinder & made in Ohio... Really, Honda???... Can we all say "RIP-OFF"?... Oh & by they way, it is super-ugly... Not a chance I will ever buy one.. Sorry, Honda!

The new NSX is a beautiful car designed with the track as well as the streets in mind, but with a starting price of $157,800 which can quickly balloon to around $200,000 with options only the most loyal of Honda/Acura fans are going to buy it. Consider this; for the cost of a base NSX you could buy not one but two base Corvette ZO6s, a car that in terms of performance is pretty much on par with if, not better than the NSX.

This car is going to look extremely dated in ten years or less, and has a lot of technology that pretty much drives the car for you. The driver is almost completely disconnected from the car. Seriously, some rich folk who has the money surely wouldn't buy a damn Honda/Acura for that price tag if they can get an M5, a 911 or a lower spec Ferrari instead. The car is a major flop and it has no target demographic. The people who want one because they are enthusiasts can't afford it and the people who can don't want it.

exactly,there is no car with the same tech this car has even within the most expensive trim price range. acura could have easily sell this for 300k

This car is full of technological innovations, I have to give credit where it is due. But if Acura intended this car for the original NSX's audience, then theyve completely overkilled it. If anything, the NSX was like a higher performance 370z; V6 NA, rear wheel drive, manual optional, and midship engine placement. If I was in Acuras corporate offices, I would have given this new NSX a completely new model name and then made a lower priced, mid engined NSX (as close as the former as possible) so it can compete with the Q60 coupe, RC coupe, etc.

+Mohammad Mehio i love this car.. i think what they plan to do is use the popularity of this car to trickle down the tech into the rest of the acura brand.. if im right i think in prob the next 2 years you will see most all acura especially the top trip with shawd and a the elec motors with torque vectoring.. this new ceo is looking to stand acura out from honda.. and thats prob the best way they can do it without honda cutting their sales.. and we might see the return of acura coupes

Its because although well done, it was boring and underpowered. Its the same with the new one. Its not better than anything else. Its boring and gets lost in the shuffle.

Definitely a great successor to the 1st gen in every way except exterior styling. It lost that stealthy exotic design the 1st gen has.

Would of worked and would of been a worthy successor if they would of ditched the electric motors and increased the horsepower to 600hp while decreasing the weight below 3300lbs. Spare me the B.S. of electric motors. Why? Longevity and reliability. Sorry, solid state batteries haven't reached that level of technology. The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics still stands.

First gen was a work of art. Yes, definitely Ferrari-inspired but had it's own flair. This 2nd gen has amazing performance, but looks like a souped up Honda Accord coupe, and not in a good way.

Exactly why chevrolet does such a good job with the vette. More power and performance for less. I do like the style of the nsx but the price is outrageous.
@aenelson89

That price! Half the charm of the older NSX was that you could get one under 100k and still have a sleek style performance car that you could drive daily. Now its just another super car. I also don't like this bubble shape all the super cars ate getting they are looking more and more like sedans.

You forget that inflation exists. The first gen NSX with inflation was 110k. This is an apt price for the tech you get.

Hate to say it, but it seems like GM did the "Mid engine supercar looks and performance, with a dash of practicality and daily usability, at an attainable price" formula MUCH more proficiently with the C8 than this NSX. Little wonder they had difficulty moving these, while C8's sell immediately, and are even often marked up! Really hate to say i though because I'm a Japanese car fan, but man, they SUCK now... Either overpriced like this, or a Dinosaur, like the GTR. Or lazy badge engineering jobs derived from lesser German hairdresser spec models, yes, like the Supra... But hey, there is hope in the 400Z!!!

Many peoples still don't appreciated Honda because they think it's a low class automaker for decade. Honda might be cheap but it qualities is one of the best, I've seen Mercedes and BMW interior qualities that doesn't last longer than Honda. For the new NSX still many people unappreciated the $160k price tag, engineering and technology put in that car is well worth the prices! One of the first sport car that has Twin Turbo 3.5L V6 with dual electric motors which active AWD. Go spend over $200k on European sport car and you can't even get those technology! For me, you are paying over 50% prices tag just for the name that will depreciate within few years of owning.

Who asked for all this "tech"? Not many, I would actually say very little. The old NSX was simple, light weight, and naturally aspirated.Though not easily attainable, the higher trim is approaching entry Ferrari prices. Similar to the recent GTR, it use to cost around $60K(american) and now its about double that. I would say most would be happy with an aluminum bodied, 8500-9000rpm NA V6, around $100K. I'm no expert but w/o all the "tech", the price could be dropped significantly. Watch the NSX get to Ferrari prices, and then only the .0001% of the world will be able to enjoy this car.
