Great walkthrough. For anyone else trying this for the first time I would recommend mounting your camera before you mount the mic adapter. Because your camera has to be in a specific position, it will be easier to mount it first then position the microphone adapter where you need it for proper/secure connection.

Instead of a Lexin, I have a Focal which also has a 2K camera. I mount it on the “wrong” side so that the camera points backwards. So now I’m video recording in front of me, and behind me at the same time. Plus the Focal connects to an iPhone via Bluetooth and streams music to my headphones. If I stick a second mic in the helmet I can connect it to the Focal and use it for music, phone calls, Siri, ChatGPT. Pretty useful setup.

I've seen someone wrap their phone (I guess you could just fit a field recorder instead) in a tshirt or some similar cloth, placing it underneath the seat, so youve got a really nice exhaust note & the audio from your helmet setup. just sync after post or whatever. Anyways nice setup

As seen before, the accessories/mounts can break free in a spill; are there any hazards in removing the helmet after a crash with this setup? Thinking out loud. My wreck was with a deer and alone; didn't walk away, but protected my phone and luckily no helmet problems. Different scenarios. Am a fan.

Gopro are great and I will be getting one very soon but I can't understand the mic adapter requirement.. You would think they would come up with a better system? The 60 dollar akaso needs no adapter and my mic set up is so convenient and compact and easy and sounds great. IL be getting an external audi recorder anyway but still for vlogging u would think they'd have a better set up for mics

Excellent content and well executed. I have the same setup except my gopro case has a location as part of the case that holds the mic adapter. That saves a whole step of having to put it on your helmet. I can remove the gopro from the helmet and put it on my handheld tripod for walking blogging or talking to my camera. I'm curious if you have seen one and if you have why you didn't use it? Mine is a ulanze I got three years ago. Cheers from NZ
