Quick little tip for when you glue the mount on the helmet. Before sticking it on, grab yourself a hairdryer and heat up the adhesive tape for a quick 10-15 seconds or so... Doing this will make sure there will be no airbubbles or less sticky parts when you stick it on. The kind of tape they use for these mounts get less sticky over time. Even when they are packaged well.. Heating them up basicly makes them brand new again. Last thing we want is to lose our brand new $400 camera when we couldve prevented it by something as simple as this!

I did this with the osmo A3 and the DJI Mic (1) on my Shoei glamster last year. It works great. The main difference is that the mic 1 isn't blue tooth. @garo91925 күн бұрын
i’ve been dreaming of an osmo motovlog setup since the release of the mic mini. although it does not have onboard recording, its very unlikely that you’d need it given that the mic would never be 400m away from your helmet cam. you also mentioned that u used to rock a double mic setup and that would still be a great idea so you could fine tune the engine sound by itself like those “raw engine sound” videos they’ve been advertising with the mic mini

Sadly there’s not enough room in the chin area of a Shoei RF1400 for a relatively gigantic DJI Mic. It feels like I’m trying to fit a shoe box in front of my lips and I end up with the dead cat inside of my mouth. Very uncomfortable. Regardless, I still get plenty of wind noise with that mic. There’s another limiting factor too: the DJI Mic’s battery is too small. If I don’t remember to charge it after every ride, it’s likely going to die during the next ride. This is why I have to ride with an external battery hooked up to my action camera. On long rides I even have to replace the external battery which is 10,000 mAh. It’s annoying. I am dying for a helmet manufacturer to finally put a DJI or GoPro camera in a helmet with a Cardo comms system as well. Feels like motorcycle helmets are stuck 15 years in the past.

@@C_R_O_M________ maybe you should do a video explaining this and showing folks because sometimes there are always other methods. There is tons of creativity in the motovlogger community. Rather than throw shade, offer a suggestion to better the process.
@C_R_O_M________Ай бұрын
@@TobyNorthEN It's pretty straight forward: you scrape the existing 3M tape and epoxy the part on the helmet. If, for some reason, you want to keep the 3M padding you scrape the middle part (maybe carve a circular hole in the middle of that 3M tape) and fill it with epoxy. Then attach it to the helmet with something that keeps it there for the needed duration for activating the two part epoxy mixture. Done! It's not exactly rocket science!

@@TobyNorthEN Because I KNOW that filming and editing a clip is not easy (been there, done that) and, as you said, it might seem easy in words but not that easy in practice. Nice video. I do a lot of vlogging for my youtube channel and like you had to do a lot of hit and miss on the audio side. Looking at your videos. I love your audio. But I don't see you riding with others. I don't see how this setup picks up other riders in the conversation. Presently I use a double y trs cable. The main end plugs into my gopro where the two y's go inside my helmet plugs into a 360 high quality microphone. And placed center over one of my speakers so when a I'm communicating with a fellow rider the microphone picks it up and sends that to my gopro. And when when you see my helmet the other y plugs into a microphone that is routed to my mouth. It sounds pretty good. So while I like your idea. But that is my only problem with your setup. How do I get other riders on the recording onto my gopro using your idea. So if you see my most recent video you see two mics. One that is dedicated to my pack talk edge and the other that is dedicated along with the microphone center of the left ear making my audio recording complete. Chris Caliente youtube channel had a video how he sets his up. But he didn't show specifics like you did how he went about setting his up. Can't wait for your reply!
