I used a metal clothes hanger. Cut it and made a “V” with wire. Wrapped it around the front of fan and bent it to hold on to the crate on the heater. Holds real nice.

Sounds like a great alternative way to make it work. Thanks for sharing!

This looks a great idea for 20$!! You always seem to have some great ideas. I watched a KZbin video the other day and the guy said the best way to keep a deer blind warm is with a small wood stove and the best part is there is no condensation buildup on the windows because of the dry heat. You would also need a small vent pipe but might be an option worth considering as well

You must have been watching Mark from The Back 40. He puts out great videos. I think a woodstove is a great option if you spend a good amount of the day in the same box blind. I usually hunt one (out of a handful of different ones) for a few hours in the am, then another for a few hours in the afternoon. Propane heaters are pretty cheap, so I set them each up with one, and they provide instant heat for those short sits. Window frost and fog is definitely a problem to constantly deal with though.

@@UncleBucks .. I think it was the back 40! Can’t beat a buddy heater for convenience.

Thanks, Brett! I will give this a try. Hope your hunting was fun this season and you got some meat for the freezer.

You're welcome Terry. Thanks for watching! I elected to pass on some younger bucks in WI this fall and ended up taking a nice doe later in the gun season, and had archery success on a nice buck in Missouri, so 2 in the freezer!

@@UncleBucks Nice job! I ended up with one doe for the freezer. Archery is open 'til the end of February, but I might be done hunting. It depends whether or not we get another snow. If we do, I am going to give it a shot.

I watched a YT channel a while back where the host took the grill off of a Mr. Heater and flipped it around then inserted the frame wire back into the holes at the top. This made a tray out of the grill that stuck straight out. You could set that fan right in the tray so you wouldn't have to do the drilling and grinding. A plus with this grill/tray is that you could heat up soup/stew or a grilled cheese sandwich wrapped in foil. Give it a try and tell us if this works.

I believe I saw that same video! I don't enjoy cooking at home, let alone while I'm out hunting 😆. To each his own. I'm sure it would work but it would stick out the front a little more, and angling it downward may not be an option.
