Taleworlds should have just remade Viking Conquest and expand it further, I always thought that is what a perfect sequel to Mount & blade should be like. The only thing that keeps me from uninstalling this game is the Kingdoms of Arda mod. Here's to hoping that Placeholderlord gets properly finished one day! (But it's starting to feel like George R.R. Martin with The Winds of Winter, ugh!) Cheers Faye!

Hey ! I'm the author of the Norman Armory, havent received any reports about items not working, which one are those exactly? You seem to have incorrect shield positions, I suggest you to do a clean reinstall since I adjusted all those shields' holster positions, you have the old ones. And since my mod uses native materials, any other item mod that does the same can be conflicting too so try loading my mod below others. Thanks a lot for featuring my mod! PS. The thumbnail bug is caused by a change TW has made, we are still waiting a fix from their side.

It's odd. They spent time talking about how walking around towns was going to be more central but make the choice to go with simple UI shortcuts to the characters and conversations you need to hit. viking conquest did make you go into towns but I think they realized having to do that for the billionth time would get old when despite how good the cities look they never managed to go beyond scenery. Just forcing the player to leave the overworld and walk around holding alt is bad. Perhaps if time were able to pass while in town scenes, notables were allowed to move scenes and leave towns while you went shopping, and seiges could come rolling in while you were drinking at the tavern, we would have some thing. But the only real time you are in direct control is combat, that's really all you need. Would be cool if further steps were taken any way.

It's a difficult trade-off, I think. Being able to zip straight to NPCs makes the game a ton more playable. Want a quest? You can see who's offering quests from the world map, then accept the quest from a menu. The downside is that there's no reason to actually go into a town & explore, because you can do all the same stuff much faster via the menus. I play some Warband modules where you *can't* just jump to NPCs from a menu, and it's always frustrating in the early game when you've got slow horses and low athletics. Trudging around villages on foot for several minutes at a time querying every NPC until you stumble into the one guy that offers you the "quest" of donating them a dozen cows.

I really dislike the smithing skill. I wish we had something else for our third endurance skill, perhaps a skill that focused on health, increasing hitpoints and decreasing the chance of death. I like the way they did smith's in Viking Conquest (a DLC for M&B Warband). You could go to a Smith to purchase special armor and weapons and upgrade them for very high prices to upgrade to the highest tier of armor.

Try using KZbin to help installing mods sum mods won’t wrk on sum versions so u have to always check that

this would likely require a beefy pc but i think it'd be awsome to make battles more accurate historically that each "recruitable" unit adds 10 of them to the army and can be withered down and replenished. this would mean a fresh "100 unit" army would have 1000 soldiers and a fresh "1000 unit" army owuld have 10k soldiers. this would only apply to those in the unit roster and under "recruit" in settlements or the mecernaries in taverns(not agents/companions)

You do have a point. There's no real rpg story or unique content to discover in the game. Yet, people - me included - send thousands of hours playing. Why? Because of all the mechanics to be explore. But that raises the question: imagine if anyone would use the base "mechanics" and make a proper rpg with stories and characters. It sounds so great, its intimidating

@MorallBill Nah, I play plenty of sandbox games that have no story and you set your own goals. But my issue with pure survival games is you get to a point to where you're beyond surviving, you have everything you need plus some, a big base, nothing threatens you. It gets stale.
