Mountain Hardwear Storm Whisperer NEW! Pertex + Ghost Whisperer

The new (and highly anticipated!) Mountain Hardwear Storm Whisperer is here! They took the tried and true Ghost Whisperer and added a Pertex Storm hardshell. This combo is great for cold and wet conditions.
The timing was perfect for testing this. We had several storms come though Colorado - some cold rain and LOTS of snow. It was nice to be able to grab one jacket to operate in the elements and be protected.

I just picked this jacket up last week and I’m in love! Since Arcteryx changed their fit (fit is terrible now) I’ve had to branch out. Warm, durable, and the fit is perfect.

How warm is it? Enough for cold northeast winters?

i'm in southwestern ontario (canada) and last week temps have been around 15F at night. I throw on a merino wool baselayer and i'm warm out walking the dog. I have enough room to add a fleece, which i would if i were out for an extended period of time or not being active. Love this jacket !

So, the Pertex will resist tears and scratches. I'm looking for something more durable than the traditional down jacket

How’s the baffle construction/stitching like for the sleeves? Does the down tend to disperse when you flex your elbow? Can you maybe share a photo of it?Thank you.

The most recent Ghost Whisperer had shorter arms and didn't fit, unlike its predecessors.

I had issues with the fit on the GW as well. I was pleasantly surprised to find this one fit great.
