great comparison of 2 of the same meals. You should do a comparison of Peak Refuel and Mountain House in the same meals. Those seem to pretty much be the leaders. For both brands my favs are Chicken Alfredo Pasta, Beef Stroganoff, Breakfast Skillet and Biscuits & Sausage Gravy. If you try the Peak Refuel biscuits & gravy, make sure to break up the biscuits up into chunks before adding the water.

Thanks @DavidT. We may need to do that comparison, I think your on to something. Peak refuel and Mountain House are very comparable as you stated. I have had the biscuits and gravy and experienced the crouton like effect of the biscuits not getting fully soft and staying crunchy, still good though. We appreciate your comments and thanks for watching! Please subscribe to our channel if you enjoy our content.

Interesting and informative. Loved the way you pointed out the variable difference between the two brands. Also, very important the ease of use and cost differential. Over all great job.

Ready wise from Walmart doesn’t come that way. They come in white pouches

It really seems that mountain house is really the best. I keep coming back to it despite wanting something more middle of the road. What would your top 3 brands (maybe two) considering these factors. Starting from most valued to least; 1: daily amount of calories 2: $ per calorie 3: water consumption to prepare 4: energy consumption to heat (cost to bring water to boil, vs simmer for 20 min) 5: shelf life

Well that is tough to answer as even since we did this video folks have sent me other freeze dried meal companies one that is clean and organic ingredients so I have more work to fully be able to answer a definite top 3. However we do a great job answering your other 5 questions in our Mountian House versus 4PAtriots meals. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fl64ZIqFgN6Yhrc For now pound for pound for a easy to find fairly high in all those categories in my opinion is Mountain House, for their general quality, good taste and varied meal options, real meat and resealable bags you cook in.

@@LifeintheNorth40 thanks so much. I enjoy your content very much. Keep up the great work. Guess there is a reason that my mind continues to go back to mountain house. Thanks again!

I don't understand the point of the readywise. Seems like just overpriced Knorr bags minus the flavor.
