One of the few times I've ever car camped was in Bozeman! I was too sore to hike the M trail because I spent every last muscle climbing up and down Bear Trap Canyon near the lower Madison River looking for the Fenn treasure. 🤣 Bozeman was the nearest major town to stay in, and I greatly enjoyed my recovery days in the library! They had a book sale where you could fill up a large Costco shopping bag of books for like $5. So I fell asleep in my van that night reading from a giant bag of books. Enjoyed your hike to the M (eventually)! Didn't realize it was made of rocks, only seeing it from afar. Thanks for taking us there and around other places of interest in magical Bozeman, Montana!

As a Montana resident of almost 50 years... YES!! The weather IS like that 😂😂. One minute hot, the next a downpour! Im west of Bozeman but weather has been even weirder this summer! Chicken & Chorizo Paella is awesome even homemade is what I had a few times before. Montana is definitely an adventure to see more of the mountains and the big M. I'll be exploring part of the New England area next week even while I work. My first time going to explore the Northeast Corridor well past New York. I love Montana! I would be there now if not for the VA being slow fixing a pinched nerve in my hand 😫 I have a hidden gem camp in Montana with a lake, planes flying on and off it, and a 100 foot water fall that I kayak too its foot and hike up to it to shower naked! 😉🤪😜🤭❤️

I'd be afraid of grizzly bears. Grizzly bears are not to be reasoned with. I would have either not gone on the hike or carried a rifle. I have never carried a rifle.

It is a long drive for sure, its a full day if not more depending on which directions you go (east to west, north to south, diagnol). Im sure some would say boring, but Montana literally has everything. Flat prairies, rolling hills, streaming rivers, mountains and pine trees and many lakes. Eastern MT is complete opposite of Western Montana.
