I concur, the flower is the Indian paint brush. Take your vehicle to a secluded place turn the stereo up all the way and leave it so for about 10 min. That should move a rodent along. I found the ultrasonic emitting rodent deterrents work well to.

Do what you can to make sure the mouse is gone, get a mouse trap that will work in your car. Mice can eat wires and will eat and nest in your upholstery. I wouldn’t recommend using the bear stray on the mouse, though. :-)

Never ever jump around a bear (I think you were joking) they will see you as prey. Also, you need to be at least 6 ft away from the bear before using the bear spray. All your food, deodorant, toothpaste should be in smell proof containers. They can break into vehicles. Also you should back into your camp spots for ease of escaping if you need to. Just some tips I’ve picked up along the way. I will be in East Glacier the first week of September and heading north to Waterton, Canada. The to West Glacier. Try Hoka Hiking shoes, they are amazing!!

Love your videos and your adventures are inspiring . I too share your views about mice. 😆 If you keep peppermint in your car it will keep the mice away. You can use fresh peppermint or put peppermint oil on cotton balls and spread them around. The downside is you have replace with fresh cotton balls or sprigs every few weeks. Hope this helps. Stay safe and I wish you well.

I hear you on the mice and rats! I'm terrified of them! Would in a panic for sure if they got in the car. I know I've had rats get in the engine compartment at some point years ago only because the mechanic changing my oil spotted a souvenir of their visit. Assuming the mice came up the engine compartment and in through the vent. Or when you had a window or door open. Mice could have been in there prior to you driving up the mountain. You definitely want to pull everything out of your car and shake it and make sure they're still not in there. They chew through everything, whether it's food or plastic containers.

Just wondering how you know where you are going since you don’t have any cell service? What direction to drive in; where the hiking trails will take you. Pardon my lack of knowledge. I would be a mess not having a way to call for help or provide me direction. Thanks
@Gwen33444 ай бұрын
1) GPS navigation devices, such as made by Garmin, use satellite, not cellular service. Though more reliable than cellular, it’s still possible to lose satellite connection in the mountainous areas. 2) Google Maps can be downloaded for offline navigation, meaning no cell service is needed. For example, download the entire state or a specific area you're traveling. 3) Most national forests publish motor vehicle use maps (MVUMs). These maps are free and can be downloaded from the forest websites. 4) ALWAYS carry a paper road atlas, either one with all 50 states, or individual state road atlases. The more detailed and current the better. 5) You can find downloadable maps in PDF format on the tourism and/or department of transportation websites of most states. I know for a fact such maps are available for SC, NC, TN, MI because I have used them. The maps are detailed and zoom-able. They work best on larger screens like tablets or a laptop. 6) The position of the sun is a very handy navigation device and clock. In the northern hemisphere, the sun rises in the east, tracks south to set in the west. Hope that helps!

Sorry to break it to you, but you're probably on your way to another destination but bear spray just makes bears more angry. More effective is a blow horn in a can...it's loud and scares off the bears. But having bear spray doesn't hurt as well. lol. Good to use on unsuspecting curious other animals, aka humans, coming near your car!

And that making yourself look big in grizzly Country is funny when they are the size of your car on all fours 😂. I will pray for this lady 🙏 I do not care how many times you hike in bear country it only takes one time.And they will crush your skull like it is a grape.And if you see one with cubs in front of you and it vanish real fast do not think it ran off .It is putting the cubs up somewhere and you better turn around because it is sneaking up behind you to get rid of the threat around its babys.And I can tell you many stories after 40 years hiking the mountains. I am more nervous seeing cubs pop out in front of me and not seeing mom.If one little one makes a cry all you have got to do is grab your firearm and listen for small trees snapping off because mom is coming from that direction. Leave your bear spray your 38 your 9 mm at home it is just going to piss her off even more 😂. I keep a glock 20 10 mm.No means no.
