Btw, totally off-topic, I'm looking for studies about the effect of playing competitive video games on cortisol levels and the ability of a restful sleep. A better understanding of "cortisol creating activities" could be a great addition to your ""7" Things that are **KILLING** Your Recovery" point 6, stress. Probably learning some yoyo tricks will improve our gains =)

Remember John's been training for YEARS and he weighs ~215, 220 normally. It's only a little over body weight if you scale it to your own size.

Same here mate! Time out of gym with closures, large deficit, and increased cardio resulted in significant lean mass and strength loss, looking to get it back as soon and safe as possible!

I didn’t have knowledge of John until right around 3 weeks ago. He showed up on my feed. At that point I’ve watched many of his videos and loved them. Then I heard Heard of his passing. It affected me greatly. Felt like I knew him. Then he was gone. Fantastic information very well done on everything I’ve ever seen from him. Thanks John. You live on in many of us.

You the man. Incline bench is where it's at. One week I do Smith machine incline presses and the next week I do the regular barbell freeweight incline press. I'm 42 years old and finally made it to the 385 pound Max on the incline press. Thanks for your videos very informative

Unbelievable timing with this one! I've had some health issues over the past three years which forced me to stop lifting. I lost nearly 50 lbs., a lot of which was muscle mass, but I'm finally getting back to rebuilding. This video is just what the doctor ordered. huh... a fitness youtuber that also went to the hospital during the covid era.... i was 42 days in the hospital and had a part of my colon and lower intestense removed. i lost about 40 pounds or 20kgs. good to have someone to relate to.

I found working in a 3 week block like 5-3-1 or Tactical Barbell was really helpful coming back from injury or busting plateaus; something like this for we'll just say bench after a shoulder injury: Week1 ramp bench to a topset of 185 Week2 ramp bench to a topset of 205 (or less, 10lbs like you were saying) Week3 ramp bench to a topset of 225 (or less) week4 ramp bench to a stopset of 190...and so on...
