Lovely art work 😊 can I ask how long do these oil & cold wax paintings take to dry? Thank you

About a week 👌

Thank you, thank you! I've been lamenting over how to do this. Your way is easier than some I've seen! I'm not good with being exact, either, so I like that you also cut after it's on the board. I'm guessing you need to make sure the paintings are always a bit larger than the board? Lastly, is the glue sold at most art stores? You're so talented! Merry Christmas!

Hi Mimi ! So glad this was helpful. YAY. I had to create a way that worked for me. So YES make sure your paintings are a bit larger than the board size you choose. And YES Glue is available in all US art stores. For people outside the US, I'm sure they can find a pasty glue that'll work just fine too.

Hi, I have a question after you have finished your painting, how do you seal it. Would the wax and oil paint Have a tendency to melt or change with heat…the painting?

Hello Andrea.. Thank you for your beautiful videos. I really like your work.. but I want to ask you. There is no cold wax in our country, Lebanon. Can it be dispensed with or is there another alternative to it?

I think you can make your own ! Do a little googling for recipes but many artists just make their own and it’s not too hard ! Let me know how it goes

These are beautiful! Thanks for sharing your technique! May I ask what brand of panels you’re using and what is the name of the clear measuring sheet you were using too.
@artistspace3 жыл бұрын
Hi Debbie, so the brand of panels is something I got off of Amazon, that I REALLY wouldn't recommend. They're cheap and I think they just call them 5 x 7 wooden painting panels. That being said it's hard to find those little panel sizes. Rexart.com does great panels which I'd recommend.

@@artistspace Thanks Andrea, I was just scouting out those on Amazon and thought the same thing. I’ll check out Rexart, thanks so much and happy holidays!

Hi, question how do you seal the painting? Wouldn’t the heat or moisture change the painting over time. I would want to preserve the painting. 🙏🏼
@artistspace3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I don't seal the tops of these and so far, I've never had an issue.Hope that helps ?

Curious to know why you don't paint directly onto the board? Thank you!
@artistspace3 жыл бұрын
Because I’d already created all of these on paper :) mounting them to board is an alternative to framing. Sometimes too I’ll take a work in paper and only use a part of it that gets mounted to board. But yes ! Working directly on a gesso board is what I do most often

How much do you sell them for, Andrea?
@ladybugjaz2 жыл бұрын
what type of paper are these paintings on?
@artistspace2 жыл бұрын
Arches oil paper
@pollyester662710 ай бұрын
Why not adhere the paper to the panel first with PVA size or acrylic medium?
@artistspace10 ай бұрын
I don't think either of those would be strong enough to hold the relatively thick arches oil paper. Definitely would use it for thinner paper though !
@pollyester662710 ай бұрын
@@artistspace I have used acrylic matte medium to adhere canvas to panel and they're still secure after many years. It is a common method for a lot of artists that prefer canvas, but a solid stiff surface to paint on and less fragile.
