Every single video on youtube done by successful and respectable athletes for the handstand does not force us to "cheat" through it, but you do by showing those little details like the rope example or the shoulders on ears. I call those smart cheats. Well done. keep up!

Your content is phenomenal. You describe so clearly and simple concepts that others struggle to. Thank you so much for these videos - more handstand content would be great! Maybe drills to build up to the strength of holding one in the first place? I struggle to gain the position from a static beginning for example, so understanding which muscle groups to train to lead up to the basic handstand would be great!

Fantastic video. I’m months into learning handstand. It’s ridiculous how hard it has been for me! Sometimes I ca. Hold a good thirty second one, then the next time I totally fuck it up. I’m so inconsistent. I’ll keep trying and keep the ART in mind. Thanks!

[ Quax ] practice against a wall to get the feel
@tylerk.79474 жыл бұрын
[ Quax ] yeah just hold it as long as you can...once you can do a good thirty seconds you’re probably ready to move off the wall. As an intermediate step you can have your stomach against the wall and walk your hands in to get a better feel for the correct positioning. Then get off the wall and start trying. It will take a lot of practice and a lot of falling. Always warm your wrists up and stretch them before and after you practice. Good luck
@tylerk.79474 жыл бұрын
[ Quax ] haha yeah. I’m finding that warming up by doing assisted handstand with stomach against the wall helps me a lot with performing unassisted handstands. It seems to warm up the mind/muscle connection. The past week I’ve had a few good ones. Held one unassisted for like thirty seconds!! One day we will both be that cool person holding handstands all day on the edge of a cliff. Hah.
@tylerk.79474 жыл бұрын
[ Quax ] Lol. Yeah, it has been ridiculously long process for me too. I did start straight away with assisted ones. I feel like at the beginning I would get more blood rush than I do now. Idk what’s different but I don’t really notice that anymore. I’d make sure yourehydrated and maybe have enough iron in your system? You should also google pike pushups as that is a good exercise for warming up to handstand. Let me know when you make progress! I’m curious to hear how your journey goes. Good luck
