Movie Star Biography~Sterling Hayden

Sterling Walter Hayden (born Sterling Relyea Walter; March 26, 1916 - May 23, 1986) was an American actor, author, sailor and decorated Marine Corps officer and OSS agent (from services during World War II). A leading man for most of his career, he specialized in westerns and film noir throughout the 1950s, in films such as John Huston's The Asphalt Jungle (1950), Nicholas Ray's Johnny Guitar (1954), and Stanley Kubrick's The Killing (1956). He became noted for supporting roles in the 1960s, perhaps most memorably as General Jack D. Ripper in Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964).

As a huge fan of Mr.Sterling Hayden, I thank you for the video. Mr. Hayden lived many lives in 70 years and I can imagine how amazing it would be to meet him. I love the actor, but I love even more the writer - his books are great. May he never be forgotten! I miss you, dear Sterling.

What a total badass! I love his acting, politics and writing, and he was in early version of green berets, special forces i gather.We need more people like Sterling Hayden in America.

He was a 1st Lt in ‘44 then Capt. in ‘45. Why do you then refer to him as Lt.? Both Hayden and Mitchum were real Men. Women were attracted to them. Both liked booze and weed and never hid it from their fans😵‍💫
