Just imagine the feeling, they've been studying the dinosaurs all their lives and then suddenly everything they've read is right infront of their eyes and moving. That's an inexplicable feeling. The happiness in their eyes especially when he says, "They do move in herds". Very accurately directed by Spielberg and very accurately acted by the actors.

CGI when viewed on a digital medium such as a tv set looks horrible but when you see the exact same CGI on film in a theater it looks fantastic. Film has a softer color look which means different colors do not stand out against one other in harsh tones.

There’s so much to say about this scene, but I’m gonna say this: it is arguably one of, if not *the*, most important scenes in cinema history. This scene showed just how powerful and how realistic CGI had become to the world and more importantly to filmmakers. Thousands, tens of thousands, of people suddenly realized that all those movies that they’d always wanted to make but couldn’t because the technology didn’t exist to make them in any satisfying way, were shown in the most dramatic way that it was *finally possible*. This is a scene that made a million dreams instantly come true, or at least become possible.

Honestly a cinematic masterpiece. The way it gives you time to process the joy and wonder after first seeing the first dino and how it just slowly adds more. I'll NEVER forget the moment I first saw this scene on the big screen. It was a small town theatre in Kerala, India in the Summer of '94...🥰 I'd just turned 7yrs old a couple of weeks before and that kid had tears in his eyes with a big smile plastered across his face. Eyes wide, hair on end and heart pounding so hard. The moment the Brachiosaurus's feet hit the ground (1:35) the seats in that little theatre rattled...🤩

I was seven years old when I saw this in theaters. I was twenty-seven when I saw it again in theaters, and I still felt the same amount of awe and joy--I just cried when I saw it at twenty-seven, because I appreciated it all the more with the music. The childlike wonder doesn't fade. And Dr. Alan Grant's line about herds still hits home if you truly know and understand why he said it the way he did. This film will always be a masterpiece.

Watched it in the old Satyam Theatre , big screen, then Madras . One of those movies which resonates my childhood more than anything. This particular scene took the entire cinema theater in awe. we walked back home after the show and reached by 10 PM. I was 11 year-old when the movie was released. Took my breath away, and I was looking around all around the empty streets, while returning back home whether any of the dinosaurs walked out of the theaters . Hats off Steven Spielberg.

As a 90’s kid, I can confirm this scene took my breath away just as everyone else who saw this in the theater. When this came out, you gotta understand that this was basically the first time humanity had ever seen dinosaurs. The theaters shook from the footsteps of the brachiosaurus. To say that people’s jaws dropped is an understatement. All these years later and it still gives me chills when I see the brachiosaurus. One of the greatest movies ever made!
