4:00 is exactly what I needed to know! Thank you! Just got mine from a Humble Bundle deal and saw it specifically said "Vegas Pro 18 Edit". I haven't upgraded my Vegas Pro since Vegas 9.0 and was worried if they've started an Adobe-level of software differences 😅

Very well presented. Yeah, those "regular prices" are NEVER used. The sale prices ARE the regular prices, although they do fluctuate from time to time.

why not a comparisan what we get more with the pro version in compairison with movie studio 17....... I haven’t found nothing that I need in vegas pro until now..... so what we have more or better......

I bought Vegas Pro 19 using your link a few weeks ago. I was previously using Movie Studio Platinum 13 since it came out. My question is when I would open MS 13, a welcome window would come up and I would choose a new project using common presets. Then another window called "New Project" would let me name the project and check the box "manage project files". This would allow MS 13 to create the folder and put the "Renders" and "Rendered Media" folders in there as well. How do I make VP 19 do this? Right now I have to go to my drive create a folder then tell VP19 to place everything in that folder. It's a bit of a pain to do it this way.

LOL 😅 😂 🤣 I had the exact SAME thought! Actually, I had already been working on a Vegas related project when the bomb shell dropped! I almost deleted my Vegas themed website and forum, but luckily I calmed down. If I could just clone myself, I could get these new videos out faster.

DVD Architect was retired more than 12 months ago. If you can find an old version of Vegas Movie Studio in a box, that will come with DVDA. Version 16 or older will have it. Yes you can open Vegas Movie Studio projects in Vegas Pro. The only time this may fail, is when you have added a Video Effect that only works in VMS and/or really old versions of VMS. Generally speaking though, you shouldn't experience any major problems!

That's not what I am talking about. What I actually mean, is that the "coding" for some older Video FX in VMS has now been upgraded with newer code. The newer versions of same Video FX may not be able to open "older" versions saved with older versions of Vegas. If this happens, some parts of older VMS projects, may not open properly in latest versions of Vegas Pro. *Yes, Vegas Pro has many more FX than VMS versions!

@@MovieStudioZen I understand what you meant, I wanted some claification mainly because of the little distinction made at the, 'that only works in VMS and/or older versions of VMS' part of your reply. That's all. If everything should work fine except for the few effects that use the old code base then I'm good.

I've been using Magix and Vegas all my life and when I saw that Sony Vegas had sold out to Magix I figured they would eliminate Vegas eventually. Personally I liked Magix a lot but hated their support. I understand Vegas users being upset and I don't understand why Magix did this.
