“Bored in some parts”?! My ADHD makes me fidget and lose focus constantly. However, when I saw it a few days ago, I sat there in the same position, barely touching any of my popcorn, just staring at the screen. When Defying Gravity ended, it was just just then that I realized that I’ve been sitting through 2 and a half hours thinking that only 20 minutes had gone by. I think it was perfectly-paced.

I didn't think Glinda stole the show. She was good. However, Cynthia was great!!! Glinda is actually the wicked one. The book is the best. 💯

Seen the show 17 times including 5 with Idina Menzel. By now I’ve kinda grown out of the previous obsession, but the movie absolutely met and exceeded my expectations. Obsession is back.

As many people who saw the play over the years this movie should not fail. I loved the song, "No Good Deed" and know it will be in part two. Its a bit too long but worth it.

I JUST got done watching Wicked, and lemme tell you! Clapping in the theater happened at the end, I was clapping too. Wow!!!! It was incredible! The final scene with Elphaba on her broomstick had me in chills! I love how the animals were incorporated, there’s a great a message to be had. Be a voice for the voiceless and don’t EVER lose the power in your voice. ❤ I cannot wait for Part 2, but it’s going to have to live up to a lot! Ariana was supreme as Glinda and Cynthia was incredible as Elphaba! 💖💚

It premieres tomorrow (Thursday) in my country, but I will go see it on Friday. Was the plan all along, no matter what reviews said about it. I LOVE everything to do with Oz and the wizard of oz, and have seen a fair share of movies and shows about it.

Watched the show with my daughter when she was much younger so this is a definite must watch for us. Agree part two will be more of a concern. But let’s see. As for gladiator 2 - a very big no thanks.

I’ve never seen wicked. To be honest the original movie terrified me as a kid! But after seeing your review I might just go see it with my 22 year old son. Should be a fun outing. (I don’t go out much)

I take it back after watching it I will do over 1 billion. Dunno how china will do since they don’t like black actresses / actors :/ although she’s green in the movie and playing a witch so maybe that will help their hatred for dark skin people l.

I don't like it. I don't think I will end up liking any new movie that is based on a musical/anime. They are just WAY too overproduced (Cynthia's claim that they only sang live is complete crap) and it's way too long among other things. I actually think Cynthia's acting and the guy who played Fiyero were the only things that didn't make me completely hate it; Ariana acted Glinda like every other actress.

@@inside_out1112 How exactly...? A typical hater would dislike it for superficial reasons. I dislike it for rational reasons and not to mention it's a fan fiction retcon of the original canon. I do contend the soundtrack is amazing though but I don't like Cynthia's riff at the end of Defying Gravity either and think it would have been much stronger as the original version.

From having read the book ( which is very dark, nothing like this) and seen the musical in London, my impression is that most of the good bits are in this part One, so I wonder what's left for the second movie apart from a lot of padding and "For Good". First time I heard they were splitting this story in two movies, I just couldn't believe it, especially considering the cumulated runtime. Would be good to see a serious movie adapting the book as the bleak dystopia it is meant to be. Also, cramming so much wokeness and feminist message into this can only be at the detriment of the overall appeal. They lost the straight guys, probably.
