This is an awesome build, can't wait to see the final product and see Shaq's reaction. I'm even more interested in this project because Shaq is a cool cat, he's great with people. Top 10 greatest players of all time but #1 in sportsmanship to his fans. Huge fan growing up.

Hi Ed, On the Universal Aquatics channel I saw that you installed 2" Check valves with 2"x3" adaptors to the 3" Flex. PVC pipe for all the pumps. Since Aquascape makes 3" Check Valve Assemblies, why didn't you use them?

Just a suggestion...tree trimmers/removers use 'ground protection mats' to protect lawns when moving heavy equipment in place to do their work [the mats act as a bridge to distribute weight avoiding compression marks]. I don't see why you couldn't use those 'mats' to avoid what happened, as well as, over your filtration area. Can't wait to see the finished project - EPIC I'm sure. Cheers...

Why not just dig it down with a solid clay liner. I get there was a spring, but you could have done all of this with Clay and Bentonite. Then add the rock. You could've done the clay liner much cheaper. ATL is nothing but clay, and rock.
