Pretty sure National Electric Code & New York Code requires a grounding rod to be placed at the shed and connected to the panel even if there is a ground in the feed cable. Factors come into play to determine this need. We do not want anyone to be hurt.

“But the building is crooked” says all the people with self diagnosed OCD. Great job Andrew but perhaps the “ridiculous” prices were from professional building movers that would have put the shop back on a concrete pier foundation. Obviously your customer didn’t care because of the sale but that building will not last on those wooden sleepers.

@RickRose5 жыл бұрын
I was going to say the same thing. I've had contractors on my property for months, and they're slobs. They leave crap for me to clean up as though it's a privilege for me to give them a job, and I should be grateful to clean up their mess. Things have changed over the years. Glad to see Mr. C is old-school, even though he's a young man. I'd hire him in a heartbeat if he were down my way.
@saml76105 жыл бұрын
@@RickRose I've noticed a significant problem with a lot of contractors these days: they don't take pride in their work. I think it's partially social, we as a society look down on manual laborers as "lesser" when in reality that couldn't be farther from the truth. This world runs on sweat and hard work, without it everything would fall apart. That, and often times the pay sucks for the guys actually doing the work. You should ask the boys you've got working for you how much they're getting paid versus how much you're paying. I bet you boss man and associates are pocketing 30+% of that sum and the workers are getting the scraps. I've been seeing a resurgence, though. There are more and more people like me and Andrew out there (and I only say that because watching Andrew's videos has in many ways brought me up into the big leagues, I honestly owe him money with how much business his lessons have won me). I bet you those boys working for you would do a better job if you made em lunch, brought a thirty rack by at the end of the day, or just shot the shit with em. Often times all you need to do to get people to do better work is show them that you respect them and you believe they can do good things. That's what got me started, neighbor asked if I needed work and took a chance on me rebuilding his front steps. I stressed over those steps so much because he respected me as a worker (even though I hadn't proven myself) and he trusted me to do a good job. Well, I did a fantastic job because he treated me well and I didn't want to be the asshole. Sorry for the ramble, but this stuff is important to me. I'm trying to raise my kids so they see the value of good work, no matter what the work is. Folks gotta take pride in what they do, and if they can't take pride in it, they should do something else.

I'm glad the 10 year rule you mentioned isn't the law where I used to live. We were moving and our horrible old lady neighbor decided that the 2 feet of fence we used to connect our fence to hers needed to go (basically saying that we'd have to build a 200' fence running parallel to hers to close off our yard.) There wasn't anything we could really do, so we had a survey done and found that half of HER fence was actually in OUR yard. Suddenly she got all conciliatory and was OK with the 2' of fence. We'd already priced out the new fence (hers was pretty ratty and a new one increased the property value anyway), and she got a letter from our lawyer telling her to get her damned fence out of our yard.

i would recommend him to anyone as he dont just do the job the easy way and then leave he makes sure he always leaves the job site in an acceptable condition and there is little for the clients to do after he goes except to maybe sow some grass etc but he is always willing to do that also . He is the old school type of professional every job is done to the best he can do as if he was doing it for someone he really cared about and he dont take the bad type of shortcuts

I just moved my 8x10 shed 4 feet from a concrete pad to 2x8 platform. I did it with a floor jack, 2x6's, Spax structural screws, my trusty Crain furniture dollys and my 15 yo daughter. Not exciting enough to film but I did a good job too. And in the nick of time to avoid Dorian flooding my stuff!

Nice to hear the different ways everyone does things. I just commented how we've moved 4-5 sheds and there's always different ways to skin a cat, so to speak !

I was thinking you were going to pick the building up enough to put the poles under it and the building would roll on top of the poles. Ive used that technique to move a smaller building. Good job nevertheless.

I normally do not watch video's like this because I live in an apartment and it would have no relevance to me. I must say that you are excellent at operating machinery; the best I have ever seen. Also, you do a great job in the clean up and making sure that the job is done to perfection. The quality of the video was excellent as well. Kudos you on a job well done. Anyone seeing this video would be foolish to not hire you since you are such a perfectionist.

I totally agree. They wanted me to sign them over a right of way. I refused, as I wasnt going to give them my property, and they finally moved it after a year. It's not a fun situation.
@morganscreek5 жыл бұрын
I believe they call it adverse possession. In some states it's 20 years. Better off getting a survey and sticking to your own property.

What you're talking about in the beginning is called adverse possession. Different states have different timelines. And restrictions. Often times with the cost of a lawyer it's not worth the trouble.
