I spent a lot of hours with a scoop like that behind our 51 Cub. It was great for clearing sediment out of our little spring fed creek.

My father used to dig our garden with a Farmall H. I think it was a 1949. This video reminded me of me watching him. I don’t think he went quite as fast 😀 I remember him trying to show me how to start it.

Joey there is a tendril a few inches from where the watermelon is attached to the vine. Wait until that tendril is completely dried up and no green is left. That should have you pretty close. That's the best method I know of on watermelon my friend.

Good advice on the watermelons. This is my 3rd year growing them, I went through the same pains my first year but now selling about 200 a year. I’m kinda jealous of your row of implements for the 140. I have two and a cub but only 1/2 the attachments as you. Enjoyed the video.

Thanks for sharing the video Joey. Enjoyed it as always. Neat seeing you on the stilts. Sweet potatoes are beautiful. You might want to go on a dig them. As far as watermelon I always let the stem turn brown and on the bottom you can look at the ground spot and you want that yellow. I've seen some that just won't ripen. You can always make watermelon rine pickles out of the rine. Old Farmall is small but it gets the work done. Garden is looking better and I know you are glad to have the dirt back up the hill. Take care.

I remember using a horse drawn scoop pan hotched to a cub tractor to grade the spot where Daddy his barn/tractor shed. Not too bad, until it hit a large root or rock and jerked the handles, nearly pull your arms out of the sockets. Youre doing a good job with that pan.

On them water melons there’s a little curly que on the stem when it’s dead and the bottom of the water melon is yellowish then it’s usually ripe
@Jtwes4 ай бұрын
Thank You. Everyone seems to have a good consensus on the curly cue
@natevanlandingham19454 ай бұрын
Yea the curly q right next to the melon will dry out that's when it's ready. Size is relevant to nutrients, and water.

Watermelon is ready when the tails start to die or the bottom yellowing

Exactly ...when the tendril nearest to the fruit turns brown. also, I've heard once they are getting close (two weeks) to not water the plant it will make the melon sweeter. I've harvested many watermelons and never been brave enough to try it.

I hope the wildlife lets one get that far.
