You'll be fine in Taiwan. IMO Taiwan is much English-friendlier than Japan in general. And Taiwanese people are notoriously known for being friendly and accepted towards foreigners. The Island may not be as flashy as Japan but you'd be surprised how much Taiwan can offer. Enjoy your new journey.

I’ve noticed how friendly everyone was there three times I came here 👏🏻 also especially last year I noticed how English friendly a lot of places were and how many people spoke English with me which was very surprising after being in Japan for so long haha

Haha I think I’m not good with crying sometimes.. I tend to keep it in until I’m alone and then let it out. Also, I didn’t want to burden him with worry if that makes sense since he is the one leaving. I do however think that’s adorable you cried at the airport!! When I watch couples do that when I’m waiting for flights or to pick up people, I usually tear up!

It must have been very stressful, missing T, worrying if he was ok there and trying to keep yourself safe too. You got it done though, even learning Chinese and all about Taiwan. You’ve got it done now, it’s over, you’re on to the exciting adventure part, getting a new apartment, decorating, discovering a new country, I can’t wait to follow the process and see the new place. Will you be looking for a new job there eventually? I know when I finished working full time I missed the kids so much I started doing substitute work if people couldn’t make it to work I’d go . That was a lot of shots , it was probably the rabies shot that hurt so bad, I’ve heard they are quite painful. You’re probably back with T now and that will help . Take care, be safe. 🙋🏼🥰

However, I think shots are worse because the stuff going into me seems to hurt more than it being taken out! See, I'm the opposite. Take however much blood out of me you want. Doesn't hurt, doesn't bother me. Injecting me with things is always what freaks me out. -_- A Wild Lily is spotted! I'm super interested in studying the education system in Japan (and many, MANY other countries. Educational reform is kind of my life goal, but this comment WILL be a literal essay if I say more than this. lol I won't be able to stop myself.) so I want to hear everything! (How is the system structured? How strictly do they teach to standardized tests? Is STEM dominating the work flow? What is an actual average amount of homework students are given at each grade level? I could actually email you if you need more. Cake is way better than champagne anyway. lol. (IMPO. If you like champagne, that's cool too. Maybe try champagne cake. That's pretty excellent.)

Hi Jenn! Thanks so much for sharing this whole journey with us! Also your hair in the sit-down-situation looks so good! Omg taking blood is something that I also can't handle well. Seeing you taking down the shelves was so bitter sweet, I'm somehow getting very emotional here, since I also moved from Germany to Korea and we'll leave Korea at some point in the future. It's amazing how you handled everything in Japanese, I'm very impressed. Looking forward to the next episode!! :))

Kudos to you for learning Mandarin with a textbook written in Japanese!! The amount of brain work 🤣 Mandarin is a difficult language to read and write but having a foundation in Japanese kanji will definitely help with recognising meanings of words. A plus about learning Mandarin is that the grammar structure/word order in sentences are quite similar to English😄
@LayersOfJenn
@LayersOfJenn 4 жыл бұрын
Haha funny bc my Chinese teacher told me to stop constructing sentences the Japanese way. Bc often when I would make mistakes making sentences in mandarin.. it is bc I was making them the Japanese way (verbs etc) 😂😂😂😂

Idk if you're going to do a Q&A but I wonder was it cheaper to pa k and ship vs buying everything on Taiwan or you 2 just decided to pack and ship? I'd love to know everything about school in Japan. Hi Jenn, I’m originally from Taiwan. Since Taiwan was once colonized by Japan, you’d still see the influence here and there. If you feel nostalgic, you can check out Japanese restaurants and izakayas there! There is a huge Japanese population in Taiwan, so hopefully that’ll make you feel more at home from time to time. Best of luck and I really hope you grow to like Taiwan ♥️

That's a lot of work! Not just shipping things to Taiwan but moving out of your apartment in Japan and looking for a new place in Taiwan. omg jenn, i have a question. i kinda got pregnant and stopped attending school but i’m planning on going back regardless, not sure when. but do you know anyone that teaches without a degree? i was wanting to move to japan in the next few years and i may hold off to go to school in japan or if i can teach i’d rather just not go to school. also i’m so sad to not see very much of you and ariana anymore :((( i remember back when she didn’t have a channel and i was always so excited to see her in your videos.
@LayersOfJenn
@LayersOfJenn 4 жыл бұрын
Now she has her own channel which is great!!! And the only people who i knew of that didn’t have a bachelors degree or anything usually worked in Eikaiwa schools. The tough part is getting the Japanese government to sponsor visas towards people who do it have some kind of degree. I’ve met people who have taught in japan though with a degree from community college! It really depends.

Oh wow this brought back so many feels for me. So many memories from when I moved abroad! The vaccinations are brutal! I had to have 7 in one day due to time restrictions. When you started talking about your friends I started to tear up, but I for one have realised that my bond with my friends has grown, even if we are far away. The conversations become more meaningful and I get excited to see how they have grown as people. At first it was hard not to get jealous seeing them out together but it also brought peace that they are happy and healthy! They will want to hear about everything you are doing which will make it fun for you to try and share as well! No better time to do this! You’ve got this! Can’t wait to see more vlogs!
