God Bless the defendants witness! I'm glad he was man enough to come forward. I was assaulted a week ago in a parking lot and there was an older man like 3 feet away that watched the entire thing. When I asked him "Did you just see what she did to me", he said "I didn't see anything." ! I was shocked and replied "Oh really?!!", to which he said "I have my own issues I'm dealing with.". I was so upset! It's sad that good people are a rarity today. Most ppl today are cowards.

No not charge less.. the 4th person would have done 25% more work which would've been about 2.5 hrs.. he should've given him the 2.5 -3 hrs discount. The defendant stated he did not answer the Boss on purpose. He had no intention of paying the boss. He under cut him.. now the boss if in town should have gone to the site. And shut everything down. The defendant implied the Foreman was holding him hostage no he wasn't. His time was up, his job was up. The defendant purposely ignoring the bosses calls speaks in volumes to me

What a scammer! That takes a lot of nerve to not only breach the original contract, but to double it!!! I was actually happy that the defendant asked the judge if he could speak, after the verdict. Even though of course, checking the BBB reports should have been done before contracting with the plaintiff, it's a good lesson for us all that this contractor is a scammer.

I wonder if the defendant paid the witness to come with him to court. I don't think that's illegal 🤔 Given that the witness is a temp laborer, most likely he would not appear for free. Or perhaps he just wants justice to be served and believed the plaintiff did the defendant dirty. 🤷🏾‍♂️

this same judge has complained when people bring anything handwritten or done on their own computer . she only accepts receipts that have the name of a company professionally printed on them so she is full of it when she tells people the toilet paper thing .

I lived through a very similar experience. Moved to another borough in NYC, the company sent 2 movers instead of 3, the move took 3 hours more and I was charged 150$/h extra. The plaintiff is a scammer, I 100% believe the defendant when he says this isn't the first time he does this.

Just a mess on both sides tbh. Lack of contract, vague terms and unrealistic expectations. Owner needed to inspect the work and site and advise how much manpower the client needed. Cause if they worked an additional 8 hours, a fourth man would have not made them complete the job at 2pm. Also, the client also erred by making his under the table deal with the foreman. If your arrangements were made with the owner, why are you negotiating with employees and ignoring the owners calls? And then youre going to check his reviews AFTER the job? A total mess

I was moving one day I booked the guys and truck in advance and on the day of the move they call me and say the truck driver is sick I said send the movers add I’ll find a truck… they never showed up so I scrambled to find another mover and I helped him since he’s one guy and the truck driver and after I moved to my new place the original movers I booked called me back and said they can come now and do the job, I told them off and said I’m giving your company a bad review

Plaintiff is a straight scam artist. You give them 1 less worker so the job takes twice as long. Then since the job is taking longer, the plaintiff is going to try to charge them 2x as much (when its his fault to begin with that the job is taking longer). All of your stuff is on their truck, so you are extra vulnerable and you have no choice but to say yes. I really hate people that take advantage of others like this.

I just moved and THIS is why I refused to hire movers. The lady wanted to hire them to pack and move. So I called her sister and couple buddies… moved in a day. Feed them, give them icy cold beverages, and toss them some cash. I don’t wanna be scammed and I don’t want strangers rifling through my stuff and then knowing where I live.

Mistakes made The guy needed it rushed. The moving company owner needs to have a by the hour contract with contingencies for issues with labor. Especially short notice. And no labor tampering!! What these guys did negotiating behind the guy giving them work is reprehensible. This is an issue with contract day labor. They owe you nothing because they are not employees. That foreman needs to go start his own company. He really hurt this moving company owner. And the customer took advantage of it all. I am shocked the judge was so hard on the moving company owner and not the person moving

It’s the FOREMAN’S responsibility as the authorized representative to inform the owner of any adjustments to the agreement being made. I had to hire people to help unload a packed full uhaul and truck, it ended up being upstairs. I paid 300 for 2 hours. I told them to just take the big heavy stuff me and 2 kids would get the rest. They ended up staying, helped me unload it all and even put our beds together for me. I was so grateful bc we were exhausted by the end of day.

Many times in these moving companies, there is one shady boss, and the plaintiff was him. When there is a contract and an agreement on the price, the contract is legal. Plaintiff is a scammer and needs to spend some time in the slammer for it.

This is a pretty common scam moving companies do. They load all your stuff up then tell you if you want them to move it the price will be a lot more and they will blame you for having more stuff then you said.

I had the misfortune of hiring dodgy movers that gave a quote and then on the day, said there was a lot more than they had realised and so said they would have to come back the following day to pick up the rest, and of course wanted me to pay extra, I refused but they then held my other half hostage until I paid, I finally paid the ransom a month later. Once it was all delivered and I was unpacking, I realised most of the boxes were practically empty, so they had made me pay extra on purpose...
