I did have a boyfriend throw a wooden brush at my head (which could have hurt me), but he never did anything like that again. He was actually a really good man (other than losing his temper that once). Even after we broke up, when my mother died, he paid for us to both stay down in Kitchener for the funeral. He also helped me pick-up / move my new couch. However, that was different from a person punching her and then trying to hit her with his car. That's attempted murder, and any cop who didn't press charges on that, needs to lose his job!

This was sich a ridiculous case. It was actually about unpaid bills owed and a counterclaim of furniture but everyone seems to forget that. Instead JM made this about spousal abuse and ruled based on personal feelings and not facts. The facts are she owed him for bills prior to leaving him and he had proof. This case would be different if she had included cost of moving due to unsafe environment then the violence would actually effect the outcome of the case
