@@nikka00 I don't like the Polish winter. For me the main problem is not the temperature or snowfall, but the duration (the cool/cold/very cold period is very long), short daylight (additionally aggravated by the change of hour in October, which I consider unnecessary), and the gloomy mood accentuated by nearly perpetually overcast skies. These issues are not that serious in the USA, that (apart from Alaska) are located deeper south than Poland (for example, Washington DC lies roughly at the latitude of... Athens, Greece!). Even the coldest states, like the Dakotas, have more sunshine in winter than Poland does. Well, you're right that a large chunk of Alaska may be "worse" (colder, darker). And not only Alaska - Norway's Svalbard even more so - right now they don't have daylight there at all. Not to speak of the North Pole.

So this gal got a job first illegally (her "visa" when she first arrived was not a visa that allowed her to work), and then after securing a job(s) of a certain amount of pay, she was able to transition to a proper visa to work. (OK, maybe the law allows her to work without a visa so long as she transitions quickly enough?) While I could see how the cost of living in coastal CA is ridiculous, there are plenty of places in the USA that have affordable housing and where jobs are plentiful (at least now, with the worker shortage), and she'd probably have more extra cash per month, especially since she'd be eligible for lots of benefits for free. From my experience in Warsaw, I can definitively say that the ratio of cost-of-housing to pay is quite high (local folks tell me this all the time).

@PandoraPath3 жыл бұрын
According to UN: Norway, Sweden, Finland- Northern Europe. Greece- Southern Europe. www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Eastern_Europe
@waltmasiak15503 жыл бұрын
@@PandoraPath True, absolutely that Greece is South and Finland is North, but both are further east than Poland. Unfortunately, some people and institutions still use the Cold War political location instead of the geographical location. This is changing but at times especially the Brits, refer to Poland as Eastern Europe. What is not surprising is that the Russians always did and will refer to Poland as Eastern to highlight that according to them, Poland lays in the Russian sphere of influence. Great videos!
@PandoraPath3 жыл бұрын
@@waltmasiak1550 Thank you! You are right, there are different divisions depending on the side, institution, interest etc. Quoting Wikipedia;) "While the eastern geographical boundaries of Europe are well defined, the boundary between Eastern and Western Europe is not geographical but historical, religious and cultural and is harder to designate". But you know Wikipedia it's not a trustful source anyway ;).
@waltmasiak15503 жыл бұрын
@@PandoraPath right, and Poland since it's christening was predominantly in the Western hemisphere. Poland adopted Latin alphabet as to opposite of the Cyrillic which was Eastern. Poland was in the Western Christianity camp versus Eastern Orthodox camp. Those values I'm on some determined Western versus Eastern. But I am acknowledging the Poland was really in between because we had a lot of mixing going on from the east So therefore the right term to use Poland is Central. Germany is also considered central but to everyone it's usually referred to as Western due to the fact that biggest part of Germany was on the west side of the Berlin Wall.

We got to the point that Poland attracts more people from the USA and not the opposite. Our concrete jungle, in comparison with their massive homelessness mixed with BLM protest (read: riots), is really something they will never see in their country never (NEVER). Their concrete jungle is stabbing, armed robberies, looting, and vandalism increasing suicide rate and depression mixed with cases of untreated mental diseases on a daily basis. I take our boring Polish concrete jungle anytime. PEACE OUT..

Every country has it's good, and bad. The risk, or the opportunities. A country can be bound to any emotion a human projects, by events, the enovirment effects on us, and the people that influence by their actions and their own emotions, which affect people arounf them. And so on. I see your will is strong, and you aren't influenced by the objects, or the dream of million objects. A free person, is a person who finds good in any small thing.
