I started watching your channel only a few months ago. I am so happy for you that you've taken such a good step forward to make your life more of what you want it to be! Moving is so stressful regardless, but to a big city comes with some additional headaches and getting used to. When your place is unpacked, decorated and the appliances fixed, it's gonna be great and you'll feel more at home! Also, take as many walks to that lakeshore as you can because there's nothing more peaceful and refreshing than watching the waves while drinking coffee and planning goals - which is what I do here in NYC. My daughter and son-in-law moved into a new place a couple months ago and it was the same thing: filthy and stuff left behind. I lived in the suburbs of Chicago as a little girl. Yikes, I would ask for some money back on this months rent. Did the landlord not even look through the apartment after the last tenant?! Anyway, sorry that was so stressful! Merry Christmas and happy New Years:)

As a landlord of many rental properties, I would advise you to discuss all the problems with the landlord( I’m sure you have). Make sure to document EVERYTHING. You definitely should receive some type of compensation for this situation. Credit on your next month’s rent. Document everything This is unacceptable as a tenant. Good luck.

When I was in college, this was honestly the norm for apartments in my town. Unfortunately a lot of landlords just don’t pay attention or care enough to make sure things are in the condition they should be.
