@@GonsoiI only talk about public education because rich people already have the knowledge and resources. A good education is not based on teachers or regulations but on values. If there are values I will provide for my family but if there are no values there can't be good education. I have seen children with wonderful teachers who do not learn anything and children only with books that are eating the world, so a good education must give good values, but if a child had a terrible life, most likely he will not want to learn. you must make people fall in love with this life, there is no other way.

Well, I lived in Chile for half a year and my boyfriend is Chilean. I can provide some realistic pros and cons. This video has covered very obvious cons. There are more. The pros are definitely the beautiful Chilean people. They are the sweetest and it's very easy to make friends. People are very polite. Chile, as mentioned above has a beautiful nature. However, groceries are extremely expensive. I am from Europe and the prices there literally shocked the hell out of me. Another issue is big segregation and street safety. You need to be careful with your personal belongings outside, hide your phone otherwise you will get robbed. Only a handful of districts (las condes, providencia,Vitacura and a few more) are on par with the European life standard, the rest feels like any other Latin American country. There is a migration crisis too. Therefore there is a lot of illegal immigrants, beggars and homeless. Those tents are everywhere, including the historical center. It's sad. I hope this situation will improve. I still recommend to visit and experience Chile for yourself

While the mean temperatures are usually between 7 and 20 degrees celcius, it’s very normal to see various moments in the day or night where the temperature will reach extremes, it’s normal for winters to have many days around 0 degrees in winter and seeing afternoons with 30+ degrees are getting more common each year! (In Santiago) Homes and apartment buildings built in the last 5~10 years will usually be really well done on the climatic side (and the seismological side for lot longer! Thank god!) to compensate for that without aircon, but it makes commuting and living in old homes (that are really common) a total nightmare sometimes. Thank you for making a video about Chile!

I recommend watching subtitled chilean media, we have a number of good quality movies and shows that are big productions and exported. Why? because chilean spanish is a dialect of our own, just like americans or british sometimes seem to speak entire different languages due to the regular use of slang, but also, because many of our words descend from indigenous culture like mapuche or quechua, and those you will never find in a Spanish-English dictionary. Chilean international celebrities giving interviews in spanish can also help, Pedro Pascal, Santiago Cabrera, Leonor Varela, Marko Zaror, etc.

I think Chile has gone down hill over the last 5 years, it's a shame as it came very close to becoming a true first world country. But open borders policy (which has been curtailed a bit) made it easier for Narcos to get their men in, and their product. Which created more addicts, hence more crime. But also the immigration allowed wages to stay low while housing costs (and costs in general) went up so many young Chileans opted to become a career criminal or opportunistic crime to top up a low wage, or make a living if unable to find work. It was effectively a double whammy effect. And all the crime hurts business which can end up driving them out of town or neighbourhoods which hurts an economy even further. It's not in a good place compared to 10 years ago. Chile's resources, the copper, good agriculture and fisheries, the lithium, the green hydrogen potential h as given it a lifeline for the crisis though so it's not over yet. Hope remains.

@@benhasel4540Exactly. "Considering all country average estimate". Do you know that one fact crucially left out in the video is that Chile is one of the countries with the highest financial disparity in the world? Your average estimates might be correct, but original poster is right. The average (not counting the upper class) *is* around 400.000 a month. 420.000, as of late, wich is the minimum legal wage, and assuming you get a job with an actual, legal contract. Wich is also becoming increasingly harder, since we have a lot of desperate immigrants who are willing to take the same jobs without contract and the security that those provide. I don't blame them, but it is what it is. I'm chilean, so take this as you will.
