Moving to Jamaica as a Foreign National

I am a Canadian of Guyanese descent who is planning on living in Jamaica for up to 6 months at a time. My wife and I may stay longer since citizens of commonwealth countries can apply for 12 months stay. I do want to start a business in Jamaica because I used to do business in Kingston for many years and I see a lot of opportunities in the country. We did by a house in Jamaica and just took possession but we are not quite ready because of our obligations in Canada. Why Jamaica? 1) Some of the nicest people I have met 2) English speakers and it’s easier to integrate with locals 3) Easy to get to from Canada. Multiple flights everyday and only 4 hours 4) Lots of similarities to Guyanese - food, language, music, general vibe. 5) A place where I fit in 6) A place where I can do business if I choose. I really enjoy your channel and learn a lot. Keep up the good work.

All those in foreign who have gained skills in the US, bring those skills to Jamaica to open businesses and employ locals genuine ones who want to better their lives. Pay them a decent livable wage. Hope all goes well!

Friend, when we return we are here to live our best life. We did that life already of teaching and managing people. We boost the economy by purchasing goods and services in Jamaica. We want to relax and enjoy life.

Please do not move to Jamaica if you are broke then complain that Jamaica is expensive. Jamaica is only expensive to broke people. You must have an income of at least $ 4000.00 USD per month. Please stay where you are if you don't have monthly income to sustain yourself well here. Renting can be high so include that in your income.

Well said! 💯🎉🤩 Prices can sometimes be alarming, however you learn to adjust or determine where or on what you won't spend your money. 🤔🧐People can definitely live on less than US$4,000 per month, depending on their lifestyle, family size and location. 🧨💯😎
