Hi Chris and Tovah! You guys are going to love living in Nicaragua. Your house looks beautiful and San Juan del Sur is a beautiful part of the country. We hear snorkeling is amazing in the Corn Islands as well. Bus travel in Nicaragua is a great way to get around the country. Buses are cheap and plentiful. 🇳🇮

Yep the Chicken busses are cheap but there’s nothing great about them. $3, no A/C and more stops than you can count. You can easily triple or quadruple your driving time. I lived there. Take Taxi’s and rental cars if you can’t afford a car.

@@marcvivori1561 I'm not a big fan of A/C and open windows are sufficient for getting a nice breeze going. We're big fans of slow travel and taking our time to enjoy the scenery. Not to everyone's liking I suppose, but we like it

@@marcvivori1561 I lived from 2010-2015 in San Juan.. im returning in 30days I do power kayaking and plan on a small business.. I’m retired and all profits will go to the nica school in sjds…the kayaks break down and fit on a bicycle wheeled trailer pulled with atv. Rent them $10. Hour.. pontoons. Awning. Plexiglass view window. Even a bow nest for the border collie. She insist. All solar electric. It’s a lot of cheap fun. Ask for The new kayak Dave at anjilitas market in Playa Marsella. The old kayak Dave moved. I’m across the street. Good luck with your move. 12/12/2021

Are you not able to fly into Managua these days?

@@TOBY-up4ie right now you can fly into Managua via private charter. However the Canadian military will not allow Chris to travel right now & even if we could our work still has a 14 day required quarantine after you come back, so it would eat up all our vacation time. Hopefully by fall all these restrictions will be lifted and we can travel freely.

We are moving to Nicaragua. We have purchased our home there and are finishing work in Canada and preparing to move. We are moving in just over a year😀

We will be looking into solar once we are settled in. We don’t really like/prefer air conditioning and only use it sparingly.

@@ChrisTovahsAmazingAdventures Have you been there when it’s really hot and humid? I lived there in SJDS. I’m from GA and it’s unbearably hot. I’m in the Philippines and it’s cooler than Nicaragua and my electric bill for 3 dual units in the hottest months is only $200 usd. That’s for 3 br, 1,100 sqm.
