In many countries locals hate it when “dollar Americans” pay more for services. That slowly brings up prices for everyone. It is okay to give a tip, but anything more is going to ultimately be detrimental to native economy.
@jackcomber10872 жыл бұрын
I was in Bali years ago and tipping was discouraged because of this reason. When in Rome do as the Roman's do.
@hobo17042 жыл бұрын
@@jackcomber1087 exactly. Prices over there have doubled in the last 10 years
@jpny47502 жыл бұрын
It is also a bit disgusting to do, even if the intention is good. It shows as “look I am rich American, you are poor peasant”. If you want to show your largesse, do it in USA. Don’t rub the nose of the locals from developing countries in it. It is really bad manners.

The box milk that is on the shelf is real milk it is pasteurized twice as long so it can be left on a shelf without refrigeration there is no different zen regular milk it is just pasteurized longer

Definitely it brings up the prices😮😮😮 I hope nobody else would do that again. Please don’t raise up the prices for everybody ✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻

Hey Mark, excellent interview this guy will be very successful in his retirement, he's got the right attitude has done many things, and is willing to learn new things, and his willingness to blend in which to me is key in living in such a place within a different culture, etc.
@yrosales5462 жыл бұрын
Agree. He is the kind of American retiree my country loves. One who can contribute a lot to our economy , pleasant and forgiving for our poverty & inadequacies.

Hi Mark. Good video! Let Steve know that John with Tourqouise Sunsets lived up in Valencia. About 3 years ago he had fresh milk from a local dairy delivered to him several times a week. There is fresh milk avaliable there.

Really enjoy your interviews with this fella. Easy to talk to and unassuming. Could easily sit down and chat for hours with him as I’m sure has some interesting tales and stories from all of his time working as master of his craft in other cultures or locations l.

S and R ( jr Costco)for whole milk, they have lots of products from US. They actually carry Costco brands.
@silentmax2 жыл бұрын
Fun fact it used to be s&r price smart…costco merged with pricesmart and then s&r dropped the pricesmart in its name…so in a roundabout way they are all connected

I truly respect the fact that you chose to give him more than his services requested. Because many at times, we go out to these third word societies and we see that they have little and still we try to take from them instead of giving. Awesome Steve!!!

You can find Norient Milk at the Provincial veterinary office at Dumaguete City. Its real fresh cows milk that they have. They do have them distributed in popular groceries in Dumaguete City. Bacong Dairy Farm brings their milk to Norient Milk.

You may be surprised to know that when you buy a new car in the US and roll it off the lot, the difference in value is not by depreciation, but instead the difference in value is by the dealers profit margin.

Ok people of Dumagete. Here is a gap in the market. Go fill it! Whole milk is needed! Considering Filipinos are probably mostly lactose intolerant (I know I am), its not strange that our milk is powdered or boxed. Its probably also treated to be lactose free. I never get stomach problems drinking milk there but milk in the middle east and here in Australia is just difficult for me to digest.

So ya my electric bill is $338/ month during summer in Tampa Bay and 80 degrees at 9AM today.
@kinhason462 жыл бұрын
In Maricopa Arizona it's 86F at 8 AM, it's going up to only 102F today. The Electric bill here to keep temp at 80F is a lot more that $338 per mo. I long to return to Dauin, however the medical needs of wife currently can't be served well in Dgte as in Phoenix.

WTF......did I hear correctly that he was in the military as a Baker ?? And as an aside what the hell is the display of dog tags all about ?? As an ex vet of over 10yrs service infantry I’d like to call this out as Walter Mitty shite.....you don’t wear them as a civvy decades later....it’s not a thing if you have really served.

1. My medical Bio-data and emergency information is stamped on a dog-tag that I wear. 2. My issued dog tags are buried next to the grave of a loved-one. 3. If you go to P.I. leave the attitude in the States. You come across as a judgmental ___hole. Nice beret you're wearing . . . I will withhold judgment . . .
