I appreciate the comments and input but just for the record this is simply a video of me having having fun on my old mower. I wouldn’t read into how it was cut because I don’t normally cut like that and I was really just having a blast! Hope everyone is doing well!!

How do you feel the diesel compares to the big block Vanguards?

I've used exactly the same sort of machine. Grass does have to be bone dry at that sort of height & speed though. Have a 72" deck with side discharge on wetter (even dew wet) grass & it won't throw the clippings out. Have to do a little back & forward to clear under the deck. Damn fun though on those big machines.

I'm thinking about purchasing one of these,... Is this video at normal speeds? It doesn't look like it when you're turning around, but when you are mowing it looks like you might be, ... If you didn't speak the camera up on the straightaways, that Toro does a great job while going fast

I could be a dumb ass but I've always made a habit of throwing the cut grass away from the uncut grass to keep from working the machine so hard. Always throw away from the uncut grass. Maybe it's just me.

Kubota without question. I like the cut on the Toro better but the build quality on the Kubota is much better. It would be different if the Toro was less expensive but brand new the Toro is MORE than the Kubota.

It would make.more sense to cut the grass at a higher setting then drop down to desired height than cut it so short making multiple passes. Also, the mower wont bogged down as much saving fuel, blades stay sharper & the grass clippings will be a more consistent cut. Plus next time its mowed, there wont be so much grass climps to recut again.

I agree with you about, what’s usually called “Layer Mowing”, but the machine seems to be doing a great job without setting the deck at the highest setting. That’s a monster of a yard and it’s cutting through it without too much issue.

I didn't know there was a diesel mower in a lighter size frame. I'm very interested in learning more about this Toro. I just recently purchased a Scag cheatah 61" and love it, but wanted a diesel. I just didn't like how huge and the $20,000 price tag. I will research the Toro 7000 series more and just maybe might purchase one 😉

Dude you have to have high ADHD levels. Cut that tall grass a some passes on the highest transport setting height. Then drop deck down to 4 to 5 inches and run back over the field again. That will make it a easier task to cut down super tall grass.
