Mozambique New York style by Michael de Miranda

Eddie Palmieri's band adopted the Mozambique in 1960, Tommy Lopez played the congas while Manny Oquendo play the timbales. Since Pello de Afrokan had more personnel playing drums, Eddie try to short it up but still have the similarity of the original. Eddie use the "son clave" while Pello use the "rumba clave". However, both groups primarily use chord progressions in a 2-3 clave sequence, and a trombone horn section. Your explanation was awesome, keep the great work! Well done!

Lo de palmieri es un Mozambique mal tocado. El Mozambique se toca con 12 tumbadoras . Y palmieri no tiene 12 tumbadores para hacerlo.

@@isidrorondon6982 Con todo respeto, no es "mal tocado" si no que en vez de hacerlo en la manera que Don Pello lo hizo, Eddie lo simplifico o acomodo en hacerlo solo utilizando conga y timbal, pues no tenía el personal para hacerlo como el original. Definitivamente no es como el que Don Pello invento, pero es un homenaje con similitud y esencia al original. Bueno, espero que tengas un buen dia.

@@lpsalsaman Hay mucha música de Cuba mal tocada pero lo justifican a su manera. Lo que para ti es un homenaje no lo es Puesto que palmieri nunca dijo de donde lo sacó aunque se sabe que lo copio de la radio. Palmieri lo hizo con intenciones de lucrar como han echo en NY. Plagios cambios de letras,música mal tocada y más. Creo que si palmieri no tenía 12 tumbadoras simplemente no lo uviera tocado. Pero a muchos no les importa hacer una mierda lo que quieren es cobrar Sin tener que pagar. Los cubanos saben que se han enriquecido con la música de Cuba. Pero eso no nos molesta ni nos importa puesto que seguimos regalando nuestra cultura musical al mundo. Pero aquí se ha encontrado muchas cosas. Los de N.Y lo único que han echo es adjudicarse cosas que no han echo y hasta arreglos musicales que nunca hicieron. Todos esos de N.Y pensaron que Cuba estaría incomunicada toda una vida. Por esa razón hicieron lo que hicieron. Lo que no esperaban es que Un día saldría a la luz las verdades que se han descubierto y las mierdas que han hablado de una música en la que no tienen ni un solo sonido. Esto se lo bamos a dejar saber muy pronto pero no aquí. Con cámaras y micrófono por todos los canales de televisión. Me da risa ver como se llaman virtuosos unos a otro cundo en realidad no saben que es la virtud. LA GRATITUD ES LA MADRE DE TODAS LAS VIRTUDES Y ESTOS TIENEN MÁS DE HIPOCRITAS Y HABLADORES DE MIERDAS QUE DE VIRTUOSOS.

You are right, SG got it from here. A long time ago this rhythm developed from the Cuban carnival and it was made very popular by people from Puerto Rico. I think they brought it to NY, but I'm not sure about that.
